Your furbabies deserve to eat out of clean dishes too 😊 Would you eat of drink from an unwashed dish?

Clean pet bowls daily using hot water, mild dish soap, and a dedicated sponge to remove harmful bacterial biofilm. Wet food bowls need washing after every use, dry food and water bowls require daily cleaning, and weekly disinfection prevents illness.

Metal bowls are best for your beloved pets, plastic can leach into water and food. Also plastic scratches easier and allows bacteria to hide and grow within the scratches.

Two things you use every single day... but probably never clean. 🤢

And chances are... you're holding one of them right now!

📱 1. Your Cell Phone
Your phone can carry up to 10 times more bacteria than a toilet seat, with studies finding tens of thousands to millions of bacteria living on the average phone. Think about everywhere your phone goes—your hands, kitchen counters, bathroom, your car, your purse—and then right back to your face.

🎧 2. Your Earbuds
Your earbuds are the perfect warm, moist environment for bacteria to grow. Research has found they can have up to 2,700 times more bacteria than a cutting board, and regular use can increase bacteria in your ear significantly if they're not cleaned.

Here's how to clean them:

📱 Cell Phone
• Wipe it daily with a 70% isopropyl alcohol disinfecting wipe or a microfiber cloth lightly dampened with 70% isopropyl alcohol.
• Let it air dry completely before using.

🎧 Earbuds
• Wipe the outside with a microfiber cloth lightly dampened with 70% isopropyl alcohol.
• Use a soft, dry brush or cotton swab to remove wax and debris from the speaker mesh.
• Never soak them or let liquid get into the speaker openings.

Lazy cleaning isn't about being lazy.

It's about creating systems that make it easier to keep your home clean. When cleaning is simple, you're more likely to stay consistent, and consistency beats marathon cleaning days every time.

Here are some of my favorite lazy cleaning hacks that save time and make maintaining your home so much easier:

🧺 Never leave a room empty-handed.
Take one thing with you that belongs somewhere else.

⏰ Do a 5-minute pickup.
Set a timer and see how much clutter you can clear before it goes off.

☕ Clean while you wait.
Wipe counters while your coffee brews or tidy the bathroom while brushing your teeth.

🏡 Don't put it down, put it away.
It only takes a few extra seconds and prevents clutter from piling up.

🌙 Do a 10-minute night reset.
A quick reset before bed makes your whole house feel better in the morning.

🧺 Use decorative baskets.
Baskets make it easy to hide clutter while still keeping everything organized.

🪜 Create a stair basket system.
Keep a basket for each family member so you're not making multiple trips upstairs.

🧴 Keep cleaning supplies where you use them.
Store bathroom cleaners in the bathroom and kitchen cleaners in the kitchen so messes can be cleaned as soon as you see them.

🚿 Keep a dish wand filled with dish soap in your shower.
Give the shower a quick scrub while you're already in there to prevent buildup.

🧸 Use baskets instead of perfect organization.
Especially for toys! Kids are much more likely to clean up when it's as simple as tossing everything into a basket.

The goal isn't a Pinterest-perfect home. The goal is to make cleaning so easy that it becomes part of your everyday routine instead of an overwhelming weekend project.

What's your favorite lazy cleaning hack? I'd love to hear it!

Let's clear up some of the biggest myths about bleach.

❌ Bleach is NOT a cleaner.
Bleach does not remove dirt, grease, soap scum, body oils, food residue, or grime. If a surface is dirty, bleach cannot properly disinfect it because the dirt gets in the way.

❌ Bleach does NOT kill mold the way most people think it does.
On porous surfaces like grout, drywall, wood, caulk, and unsealed materials, bleach only removes the color of the mold. The roots of the mold remain beneath the surface and often grow right back.

❌ Bleach should not be used on most surfaces in your home.
I see people using it on shower walls, grout, countertops, furniture, flooring, painted surfaces, and all kinds of things it was never intended for. Bleach can cause discoloration, fading, corrosion, weakened materials, and permanent damage.

So what IS bleach for?

✅ Disinfecting hard, non-porous surfaces after they have already been cleaned.

Examples include:
• Certain plastic surfaces
• Sealed porcelain toilets
• Some non-porous bathroom and kitchen surfaces
• Certain trash cans
• White laundry

And that's another big one...

✅ Bleach is excellent for whitening whites in the laundry.

But even when disinfecting, bleach must be diluted correctly and allowed to sit for the proper dwell time to work. Spraying it and immediately wiping it away doesn't properly disinfect anything.

The truth is bleach has a very specific purpose, but somewhere along the way the internet convinced people it was an all-purpose cleaner, mold remover, stain remover, grout cleaner, shower cleaner, and miracle product.

It's not.

Bleach is a disinfectant and laundry whitener—not a cleaner.

ODoBan — The Multi-Purpose Product That Does Almost Everything

As a professional cleaner, this is one of those products I always keep stocked because there are SO many ways to use it throughout the home.

ODoBan is a disinfectant, sanitizer, deodorizer, mildew odor controller, fabric refresher, laundry additive, and all-purpose cleaner all in one product. The best part is that you can dilute it differently depending on what you are using it for.

Here are just SOME of the ways you can use it:

• Add to mop water to disinfect and deodorize floors
• Use in spray bottles for daily surface cleaning
• Spray on mattresses, couches, curtains, rugs, and upholstery to freshen fabrics
• Use on pet beds, litter areas, crates, and accident spots
• Add to laundry for towels, gym clothes, smoke smells, pet odors, and musty fabrics
• Great for front-load washers that develop mildew smells
• Use inside trash cans after cleaning them to help odors from coming back
• Spray in shoes, gym bags, lockers, and cars
• Use around toilets, under sinks, laundry rooms, mud rooms, and damp bathrooms where mildew odors tend to return
• Spray shower corners, grout lines, and damp areas after cleaning to help keep that musty smell away
• Use around HVAC vent covers, washable filters, utility closets, and returns for stale air smells
• Great for basements, garages, campers, and storage buildings that smell damp or musty
• Add to carpet extractor machines for deodorizing carpets
• Use on garbage disposals and drains for odor control
• Spray on high-touch surfaces like doorknobs, counters, light switches, and bathroom surfaces for disinfecting
• Use in mop buckets for homes with pets, kids, or heavy traffic
• Great for smoke smells, cooking odors, pet odors, mildew odors, and stale air

One thing I love about ODoBan is that it doesn’t just mask odors — it actually helps eliminate the bacteria and mildew odors causing the smell in the first place.

Always follow label directions and proper dilution ratios depending on the surface and level of disinfecting needed.

If you have pets, OdoBan is hands down one of the BEST products to keep in your home. Not only does it eliminate pet odors instead of just covering them up, but it’s also a disinfectant trusted by vets, kennels, groomers, and animal facilities because of the viruses and bacteria it kills.

OdoBan is effective against:
• Canine Parvovirus (Parvo)
• Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV)
• Canine Distemper Virus
• Feline Calicivirus
• Bordetella (Kennel Cough bacteria)
• Staph & Strep bacteria
• Salmonella
• E. coli
• Ringworm fungus and other odor-causing bacteria

This is why so many veterinary offices and kennels use it daily. It helps disinfect surfaces while also removing those stubborn pet smells from accidents, litter boxes, dog beds, crates, upholstery, floors, and more.

One thing I personally love is that it doesn’t leave behind that overwhelming harsh chemical smell like a lot of disinfectants do. It deodorizes while actually sanitizing the area — which is SO important when you have pets because odors can attract them back to the same spot to have accidents again.

Perfect for:
• Pet accidents
• Crates & carriers
• Kennels
• Litter box areas
• Pet bedding
• Upholstery & carpets
• Trash cans
• HVAC/funky pet smells in the home
• Everyday disinfecting

Always follow the label directions and proper dilution ratios for disinfecting, but if you’re a pet owner, this is truly one of those products worth keeping stocked in your cleaning cabinet.
