🌶️ Downtown Hespeler felt the heat on June 19!

Held during while the Hespeler Farmer’s Market was also in full swing, the inaugural Hespeler Hot Wing Challenge brought 22 contestants and tons of cheering neighbours together for seven increasingly painful rounds. With help from generous sponsors, volunteers, local businesses and spectators, the event raised more than $3,200 for the Terry Fox Foundation.

Our latest Hespeler is Home video captures the laughs, the audience sabotage, the generosity and the nearly three-million-Scoville finale. Watch the entire event in the video below.

Although this happened over a month ago, I committed to it with the article on page 14 of the magazine that came out THIS week and putting over 100 videos together for an "Uncut Cut" was a bit more of a "thing" than I originally thought.

Saturday August 29 from 11:30-3:00 I am super excited to host the very first “Hespeler is Home FREE Family Fun Day hosted at Jamieson Estate Plaza”!

This will be an event* for the kiddos and their families to discover the plaza and do some amazing things on that huge patch of grass between the plaza and Tim Hortons at the plaza. (Which used to go by the name Townline Plaza.)

⛽ Full-service gas is still alive and well in Hespeler.

In this Hespeler is Home interview, Tony visits PetroKing and sits down with owner Wisam “Sam” Behno. Sam shares how he took over the Queen Street location in 2007, why Hespeler felt like home, and why PetroKing continues to pump gas for customers through the heat, cold, rain, and snow.

You’ll also learn about PetroKing’s specialized propane tank certification service (they are one of only a handful of places in Ontario that does it), the local families employed by the business, and the many community organizations Sam and his team have supported over the years. Watch the interview and meet the people behind a truly independent Hespeler business.

The July issue of Neighbours of Hespeler Village has arrived (truthfully last week while I was camping), and this one is a special one — our Edition. Inside, we’re celebrating the stories, history, pride, and people that make this community such a “honey of a place to live.”

You’ll find a feature on Jacob Hespeler (THE Jacob Hespeler), an agenda for the 2026 Great Hespeler Reunion this weekend, a look at the Hespeler Shamrocks, helpful local business stories, community updates, and plenty of familiar Hespeler spirit.

This is my first Hespeler Reunion, and I can already tell it’s going to be something special. Hope you enjoy the issue — and I hope to see you out celebrating this weekend!

THIS was amazing and we even raised over $3000 for the The Terry Fox Foundation. Check out this video by Adam John who spearheaded the during on June 20 alongside me and Karen Bartlett… and our many food, financial, and hot sauce sponsors! We had such a blast! (I’ll show the whole event in its entirety in a few weeks on my channel.)

Thanks for those brave souls who subjected themselves to pain and the many onlookers who not only watched, but also raised some great funds for the cause.
