Today, we remember our founder, Alex Varro.
Alex founded Thuro in 1969 and was a well-known and respected presence in Calgary’s underground and utility industry for decades. His knowledge, experience, and ability to navigate complex challenges made him someone people relied on.
He built more than a company. He built lasting relationships, supported others in growing their own paths, and helped shape an industry that was still finding its footing.
Alex was sharp, driven, and always thinking a few steps ahead. A natural dealmaker who understood both the work and the people behind it.
He cared deeply about his family and his team. The impact he had on those around him will not be forgotten.
We are grateful for the foundation he built and the legacy he leaves behind.
