Want less mold? Scrub your shower floors and spray your walls with a follow up wipe. Clean on a regular basis and leave your shower door open to allow air to come in and dry the moisture.

What do I say to new incoming clients, who are trying to prepare their rentals for new applicants or are ashamed of their home but still need help?

We honestly wouldn’t have a job - if you don’t have something to clean up. We seriously have seen EVERYTHING and we don’t get freaked out by dirt or untidiness.

We see it as a challenge and it’s our job!

So if you need help, just ask. The benefits of a clean space heavily outweigh just leaving it and stressing what cleaners will think about it. It will improve your productivity, your home will feel cozier and you can focus on other things that need your attention.

Why do bathrooms need more attention??

Moisture. As I showed in an earlier post about how to clean shower tiles, moisture can cause mold. Not only can it cause mold but it can help dust and hair to stick everywhere!

Using a duster on a bathroom baseboard isn’t necessarily going to remove hair and dust. Why is this important? Around toilets… I hate to break it to you, for those who stand to use the washroom, urine sprays not just in the toilet. It coats the side of the vanity, the walls, the floor and your baseboards.

The solution? Use an all purpose cleaner and spray the baseboards around the toilet, the floor the tub surround and the side of the vanity. Once you keep up with this - dirt, dust and hair won’t stick to it as bad!

Doucet Cleaning Services is now accepting a limited number of clients for our new pickup laundry service!

We’ll:

🧺 Pick up your laundry
🫧 Wash and dry it with care
👕 Fold everything neatly
🚗 Return it right to your door

Laundry care is $2.75/lb with a 15 lb local minimum. Detergent is included, and fragrance-free options are available.

Pickup and return are available in Brantford, Paris, Brant County, Burford, St. George, Ancaster and select Hamilton areas. Delivery fees and minimum order sizes vary by location.

Most orders are returned within 48–72 hours. Light steaming, stain pretreatment and separated loads are also available for an additional charge.

Ways to keep your shower grout mold free.

Before you turn on your shower, crack a window, turn on the fan, leave the bathroom door cracked. Air flow is key. When there is a wet environment and no air flow and humidity, mold can grow quickly.

If you have a shower door or curtain, after you shower, leave them open. This will help your shower dry.

If water pools on your tile floor or shower, use your hand to guide the water down the drain or just dry it with a towel.

Consider squeegeeing the walls, glass and even floor.

Regularly clean your shower - so hard water stains and mold can’t grow.

Lots of people are moving right now. We have had an influx of move out cleans recently!

If you are moving out of a property - have it cleaned before you leave! It takes the stress off of moving and you know there will always be a list of last minute things for you to do before you go.

Landlords and property managers: have your properties cleaned!! It will show better to new potential tenants that you actually want. It also sets the bar of how a property should be left when someone is moving out!

Why is it important to invest in a cleaning service if you have rental properties? Especially if it is a student rental?

You can keep up with cleaning, versus have a giant bill and repairs to do after they move out. Hard water, tile grout, toilet stains, walls, doors can all be kept up with - and they won’t go beyond disrepair to the point of no return.

We can be your set of eyes in a property and let you know if a toilet is leaking, the dryer vent fell off and now all of the lint is flying all over the laundry room, the dog bowls are ruining your laminate flooring, someone is smoking in the unit, when they shouldn’t be etc.

It is also a bonus and a selling point to a tenant when trying to get higher rent. Who wouldn’t appreciate a cleaner to help them out?

Why do you think move-out cleans are so important?

Moving is exhausting and stressful. The last thing you want to do is set down your boxes and have to start cleaning. Especially if you can’t bridge your mortgage or take your time moving.

Being able to use the washroom in your new home without questioning if the toilet and sink have been sanitized before your arrival.

It’s a sign of respect to the buyer, new tenants and or landlord. Leaving your old home clean and move-in ready, provides a fresh start to someone else.

This is a good investment for a realtors clients because the last thing you want to be dealing with on closing day - is a mess!
