Thanks to the skills of Kari at KBJ Photography, we have some stunning shots of an eagle rescue from earlier this month.

Showing symptoms of an impact injury (likely having glanced off a windshield), the eagle has responded extremely well to treatment and has recently been moved to an outside cage for exercise.

Food for the Hungry is our name for a reason. From the very beginning 50 years ago, FH has responded to disaster situations in some of the hardest places

Did you know that moles tails are as sensitive as their smell? They can back away from an attacker as fast back down their holes as forwards. They also live alone after mating for the season. They work 20 hours a day to keep their claws and teeth short or they would not be able to do their digging.

Want to know more about mole control???
Here are some tips on how best to use these Black Hole traps:

1) To locate a mole run, look for a mound of dirt with an indentation in a half moon shape on the side of the mole hill.
2) Use a 2" garden trowel (anything larger is cumbersome) to open the hole at the site of this indentation
3) Set your trap with a simple push on the mechanism
4) Place into the hole tightly with the 1" hole on the end of the trap exposed to the light.
5) Secure with a step-in post and chain it to the trap. This prevents predators, such as coyotes, from making off with your traps.

That is it, my friends! Easy, peasy!
