Haha let's be real...this is my reaction when I'm done😆

FUN FACT 👀

A lot of people think professional cleaners just “wipe things down,” but half the battle is actually identifying WHAT the buildup even is first.

Grease, hard water, soap scum, smoke residue, dust, and mineral buildup all react differently to products… which is why the wrong cleaner sometimes feels like it’s doing absolutely nothing 😅

Here’s a little cleaning education on a few different types of cleaners:

• Degreasers → break down oils, grease, and sticky buildup
• Acidic cleaners → target hard water and mineral deposits
• pH neutral cleaners → safer for many delicate surfaces and maintenance cleaning
• Disinfectants → kill bacteria/viruses but don’t always remove buildup well
• Enzyme cleaners → help break down organic matter and odors

Knowing WHAT you’re cleaning is just as important as the actual scrubbing 👏

Cleaning hacks people swear by 👀

• Tennis ball on a broom handle = removes scuffs from floors
• Dryer sheets on baseboards = helps repel dust
• Rubber gloves + water = lifts pet hair off furniture fast
• Coffee filters = streak-free mirrors and glass
• Ice cubes in the garbage disposal = help knock buildup off blades
• A pillowcase on ceiling fan blades = catches dust instead of dropping it everywhere
• Baking soda before vacuuming carpets = helps with odors
• Squeegee on carpet = pulls up shocking amounts of pet hair
• Aluminum foil in the dishwasher = can help shine silverware
• Toothpaste = great for removing hard water spots on chrome fixtures
• Lemon in the microwave = loosens grime and helps with odors
• Put a damp paper towel around faucets for hard water buildup before scrubbing
• Use shaving cream on mirrors = helps reduce fogging

What’s a cleaning hack you thought was fake until it actually worked? 😂

I know. I know....it's probably twice the price in Canada. But still inexpensive and not full of endocrine disrupting garbage. I think I'm gonna try this seeing as that I already use borax in my laundry and have hard water.

I recently learned about a friend ruining the steel frame of their shower from using toilet bowl cleaner (active ingredient= hydrochloric acid) because they treated the hard water on their shower glass with it. Yes it does work on hard water but there are better products to use that won't destroy another part of your shower. You don't want to create a problem while rectifying another. Please keep toilet bowl cleaner in the toilet 🙏💖🌻

THIS all day!!! Know your surface and it will save you grief and even excessive elbow grease💖🥳

Most people don’t realize this but using the wrong cleaner is one of the fastest ways to ruin your surfaces

Acidic cleaners break down minerals
They’re great for hard water, soap scum, and shower glass
But they can permanently damage natural stone like marble or travertine by etching it

Alkaline cleaners break down grease and oils
Perfect for kitchens, cabinets, and heavy buildup
But too strong for more delicate surfaces

pH neutral cleaners are your safe middle ground
Best for floors, sealed surfaces, wood, and natural stone
Especially for maintenance cleaning

This is why “one cleaner for everything” doesn’t always work
And why knowing your surface matters just as much as the actual cleaning

I see more damage from the wrong product than from dirt itself

Cleaning isn’t just scrubbing it’s understanding what you’re working with

What’s a surface you’ve always been unsure how to clean?

Imagine thinking you're making a stronger cleaner…and realizing You made DIY soap scum 🥴😂

What Happens when you Mix Castile Soap + Vinegar

Castile soap = alkaline (breaks down dirt + oils)
Vinegar = acidic (breaks down minerals)
👉 When you mix them, they neutralize each other
Which means:
less cleaning power
a cloudy mixture
and a filmy residue

When vinegar breaks down the soap, it turns it back into fatty acids
👉 Those fatty acids don’t rinse away well 👉 They stick to surfaces

Now add hard water into the mix:
Those fatty acids + minerals in your water = soap scum
💥 Literally creating the same buildup you’re trying to clean

Why your surfaces feel “off”:
That streaky, dull, slightly sticky feeling?
👉 That’s the residue sitting on top of your surfaces

💡 Do this instead:
✔️ Use Castile soap to clean ✔️ Rinse ✔️ THEN use vinegar separately if needed
👉 Never in the same bottle
