Research topics: Forest ecology, Nature restoration, Nature management, Forestry, Global Changes, Biodiversity, Ecosystem Functioning, Ecosystem services
ForNaLab investigates forests, grasslands and agro-ecosystems in temperate regions to provide advice for policy and management. The research projects of the lab are clustered around four research themes.
- Biodiversity – Ecosystem functioning
Observational and experimental studies on the link between biodiversity and ecosystem functions such as tree growth, nutrient cycling, and pest and disease control
- Impacts of global changes
Studies focusing on the impact of land-use change, fragmentation, elevated atmospheric deposition, and climate change
- Ecological restoration
Studies to identify bottlenecks for nature restoration and conservation and translate these into management recommendations
- Management for multiple ecosystem services
Studies to develop management strategies for the optimal delivery of multiple ecosystem services
