Dust mite allergy: common but often overlooked, and on the rise.
Dust mite allergy is becoming more widespread every year.

In Western countries, up to 20-25% of people are allergic to dust mites, with symptoms ranging from mild to severe—affecting both children and adults alike.

What’s surprising is that around half of those with a dust mite allergy don’t even realise they have it. And of those who do know, only about half are receiving treatment. Even then, it’s likely that only half of those being treated are getting the right care.

Since allergies can be hereditary, dust mite sensitivity often passes naturally from one generation to the next.
