It's been an incredibly rewarding few weeks, marked by outstanding achievements in both work and sports.

Jaymak Central QLD is thrilled to support several sporting groups in our hometown of Yeppoon, including the Yeppoon Seagulls Junior Rugby League and Yeppoon State High School.

On Sunday, 21st June 2026, the Yeppoon Seagulls U16 Blue team secured a thrilling Grand Final win, with a nail-biting 24-22 victory. We're extremely proud of our very own Elijah, who played a crucial role in the team's success.

This week, the Yeppoon State High School Open 1st team made a remarkable impact at the Queensland State Schools Cup, taking home the Division 2 Cup. Our talented Fraser, who played #6, also received the Man of the Match award for one of the five games.

We're beaming with pride as we watch the teams and players shine on the field.

With the school boys' competition just around the corner, we're eagerly hoping and anticipating another exciting win 🏆

The Townsville Hospital and Health Service will soon expand its footprint onto the Great Barrier Reef with construction set to start on a floating hospital.

Drawing inspiration from The Barrier Reef Resort opened nearly 40 years ago, The Barrier Reef Hospital will be the latest facility within the health service’s region and will float over John Brewer Reef.

Townsville HHS chief expansion officer April Foole said it provided a health care option for people who liked to experience one of the world’s most recognisable natural wonders.

“Thousands of people go to the Great Barrier Reef each year and this latest announcement is about bringing healthcare closer to them,” Ms Foole said.

“Our hospital expansion plan for Townsville University Hospital is about that, building capacity in north Queensland to cater for a growing population while also bringing more specialist services to the region.

“The Barrier Reef Hospital is the next step towards that vision and has been designed to treat a range of conditions people may experience while out at sea, including sea sickness and swimmer’s ear.

“The hospital will feature docks for boats to moor, helipads for the Lifeflight helicopter, and decompression chambers for divers.

“This facility is the first of its kind and will be built in Townsville and located off the coast of Townsville.”
