Hello Community!
On behalf of the volunteers from the Yankalilla Emergency Services, I just want to say a massive thank you to you all. We have received an overwhelming amount of support and donations from the community that we are working to distribute to volunteers across the fire ground. Our love for our communities is what drives us to do what we do and it has been so heartwarming to see the community share the love right back at us.

If you would like to donate (please note this is not an ask for donations) here's some ideas:
-Electrolytes (Sqwincher Qwik Sticks, Thorzt, etc)
-Wet wipes
-Bug repellent
-Tinned food (Tuna, chickpeas, beans, corn, beetroot)
-Fruit cups
-Fruit Juice boxes
-Bananas
-Sliced cheese (not individually wrapped)
-Tomatoes
-Lettuce
-Cucumbers
-Chewing gum
-John West protein bowls
-Sandwich and snack bags (resealable)
-Hamburger rolls
-Sliced meats
-Bacon

We also have a need for a-lot more Gluten Free options such as:
-GF Hamburger rolls
-GF muesli bars
-GF sliced bread
-GF wraps
-Other GF snacks

📍You can drop them off at the Supper Hall in the Yankalilla Showgrounds.

We would also like to take this opportunity to support the Deep Creek, Cape Jervis and surrounding communities who may be displaced. Here's some information from a few local businesses:

⛺️Wirrina Cove Holiday Park - FREE ACCOMMODATION. No cabin capacity but room to park/camp. Toilets and showers available.
🐶🐱Fleurieu Pet Pantry - ANIMAL FOOD/SUPPLIES SUPPORT. If you need support reach out to the Fleurieu Pet Pantry.
🏡 Allusion Farmstay and Vineyard - FREE ACCOMMODATION. Reach out to them to check availability.
There have been a number of offers for accommodation posted by members of the community in the Yankalilla, Normanville & Surrounding Areas Community Forum group on Facebook and we have a few contacts we can pass on if you require a place to stay temporarily.

Hi all.
Everyone is aware of what is going on down south. We are doing our best to share and keep updated everyone with the latest information.

You will no doubt see our Staging Area has been set up at the Yankalilla Showgrounds. The size of this staging area will rapidly increase this afternoon as will the number of fire trucks in the area as crews change over.

PLEASE AVOID THE AREA.

We will say sorry now for the short term increase in noise and traffic and hope our local residents understand the circumstance.

So please. Unless you have direct involvement, please avoid the Showgrounds area. If you have some yummy snacks for our volunteers, you can drop them off but the Salvos are doing an amazing job providing nutritious meals to our teams.

Main South Road is now closed to westbound traffic between Cole Road, Delamere and Cape Jervis due to the Deep Creek bushfire.

Restricted access remains for anyone looking to leave Cape Jervis, however, this situation is constantly changing and the road may be fully closed at short notice based on conditions.

This closure will significantly affect travellers heading to or from Kangaroo Island, including those with booked ferry services. The SeaLink ferry is still running, however anyone looking to enter the Cape Jervis area is advised to stay away where possible.

Other road closures include:
- Blowhole Beach Road
- Tent Rock Road south of the Three Bridges Road intersection
- Talisker Road
- Rarkang Road

It is unknown when the roads will be reopened. Visit traffic.sa.gov.au for more information on road closures.

Emergency services are working in the area and conditions remain dangerous. Please avoid the region and follow all traffic directions.

Do not enter closed roads. Your safety and the safety of firefighters depends on it.
