Over the last few days I’ve tackled the overgrown jungle behind the shed - it’s hard to believe how much this has grown in just a few years since it was cut down to nothing. After lots of backbreaking work and two full loads of green waste dumped, it’s finally done. Hopefully this will give my Chinese Toon tree a new lease on life and some fabulous autumn colour

I planted 11 Crepe Myrtle trees 6 years ago when I was renovating house and garden and this year is the first time they have all flowered… so yesterday I planted another 7 (dwarf variety).

It’s still a work in progress but this is the before and after of where I’m up to with the River rock landscaping. The spontaneous decision to purchase a trailer load of river rocks from a Yack local advertised on Facebook has been the best decision. I’ve also come across a great solution for the house skirting to replace the old chicken wire and the overall effect is absolutely fantastic. It’s been weeks of hard yakka and it’s not done yet, but every section I complete inspires me on because the transformation is beyond anything I could imagine.

River rocking at Vandy’s Place as I create garden edging and attempt to keep beds defined and try to stop the acorns from turning into oak trees as they take over every winter and spring.
