MOTHS CAUSING HOT WATER TROUBLES!

We've had quite a few callouts recently for gas storage hot water systems that have suddenly stopped working, and the culprits might surprise you... MOTHS! 😳

As the temperatures drop overnight, moths go looking for somewhere warm to hide, and unfortunately, hot water systems seem to be a popular spot!

When they make their way inside, they can interfere with the burner and pilot light, causing it to go out and leaving homeowners with no hot water.

Our Maintenance crew has come across this on 10 jobs in the last week, so if your gas hot water system has suddenly stopped working, these little visitors could be the reason!

Reece is showing off today’s discovery — 90mm stormwater pipe that’s turned into a pancake! 😬

At WSP, we know a thing or two about stormwater, and one thing’s certain: water doesn’t flow too well through a squashed pipe! 🤦🏼‍♂️

While 90mm PVC is commonly used for individual downpipes and smaller roof areas, what goes underground matters.
At WSP, we believe quality starts beneath the surface. That’s why we favour 100mm heavy-duty PVC DWV over lightweight 90mm pipe for in-ground stormwater, with larger sizes where the job requires💪🏼

Wade headed to Wodonga Senior Secondary College to speak to the students about his journey building Wade Smith Plumbing, what employers look for in apprentices, and the importance of mental health in the workplace.

It was a great opportunity to share some real world experiences, offer advice and hopefully inspire a few future tradies along the way!🪠
