📲 Operations Scheduler 📲
The Operations Scheduler is the person who keeps everything moving behind the scenes, making sure our team, customers and jobs all line up seamlessly. This role is all about creating order from the everyday chaos of a busy service business; coordinating technician schedules, managing customer requirements, keeping jobs on track, supporting business growth opportunities and helping the team deliver a great experience every time. We’re looking for someone who is organised, solutions-focused and enjoys being the go-to person who makes things happen. While scheduling or pest experience is a bonus, the right attitude, attention to detail and ability to juggle competing priorities are what matter most.

💻 Administration Assistant 💻
The Administration Assistant role is all about providing the support that helps our business run smoothly. Working closely with the team, this position will assist with a variety of administrative tasks, coordination, organisation and day-to-day business support, while also providing a helping hand to the Operations Scheduler when needed. This is a flexible part-time opportunity that could suit someone looking to work around school, daycare or other commitments. We’re looking for someone reliable, proactive and organised... someone who genuinely enjoys keeping things tidy, solving problems and being an important part of a small, growing team. No two days will look exactly the same, and a willingness to learn and pitch in is valued just as much as experience.

Termite dusting is a bit of a lost art in our trade, although it is still one of the most effective ways to treat an active termite infestation.

Unfortunately, not every situation is suitable for dusting, but every now and then we come across the perfect opportunity.

Today Andrew headed out with Izzy for some field training. Even though Izzy has been in the industry for a few years, she'd never been taught how to carry out a termite dusting treatment. So today was the day!

Unlike liquid treatments, termite dust clings to the bodies of the worker termites, which then carry it back to the nest. Once there, the dust is spread throughout the colony as the termites make contact with one another and, importantly, during their natural grooming behaviour, where they clean each other and ingest the dust. Unlike liquid residual treatments, the dust doesn't begin killing the termites until it has been distributed within the colony. Liquid treatments, on the other hand, pe*****te the termites' bodies on contact and can kill them before they return to the nest, reducing the amount of product that reaches the rest of the colony.

One of the old sayings in the pest control industry is:

"Don't eat where you don't treat."

We can usually tell when health inspectors are making the rounds — the phone starts ringing with panicked calls from restaurant owners wanting a pest treatment booked immediately.

The best venues never make that call.

They already have a commercial pest management program in place, with regular inspections, monitoring and reporting completed as part of their normal operations.

Commercial pest control isn't a quick spray every six months. It's an ongoing preventative process that helps businesses meet their hygiene responsibilities, demonstrate due diligence, and protect their reputation.

If you're only thinking about pest control when the inspector arrives, you're already behind.
