We are seeking Building - Demolition - Trade Oriented People to Work Within The Restoration Industry

When disaster strikes, we are there: be it flood, fire or mould contamination, Steamatic will carry out the appropriate restoration work to restore domestic and commercial premises.

Our services include contents restoration, structural drying, mould remediation and biohazard remediation. Steamatic’s primary goal is a measured and rapid response to get clients back to business or back into their homes as quickly as possible. From industrial, commercial, or residential properties, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

What would you say your biggest hurdle has been in your business?
Like most business owners, learning to let go and stop working IN the business, and rather work ON the business.

If you had one piece of advice for someone just starting out, what would it be?
Ensure the business you start adequately rewards you financially for the hours you work, the time and effort you put in after the doors close, and the risks you take on. Otherwise you are just buying a wage; and you can likely get the same wage without all the stress.

What were the most important factors that contributed to your business success?
Good people. Everything can be perfect, but if you don’t have good people who want to work in the business and achieve the same things you wish to achieve, then success will be hard to come by.

How do you generate new ideas?
Everywhere and anywhere. My staff are always giving me feedback on what works and what doesn’t. I’m involved with a lot of industry specific groups and forums which provide some great ideas. Other business owners are always a good source of inspiration as well.

What would we find you doing in your spare time?
I’ve always got a DIY project happening at home, most of which never really get finished.

What's your favourite thing to do in Ballarat?
Probably sitting down at a Café with the paper and having a coffee.
