Before & after possum proofing carried out today in West Croydon by our possum control expert Stephen 🛠️

We identified and sealed multiple entry points, including 3 on the roof, to stop possums from getting back in.

We’ve set up a cage and camera in the roof void to safely trap and release any possums still inside.

Problem solved, safe, effective, eco-friendly and long-lasting.

Hi Adelaide! 👋 When was the last time you had your property inspected for termites🔍?

These images were taken by our termite inspector Josh during a recent subfloor inspection using a borescope camera. What you’re seeing are termite mud tubes running from the ground into the timber floorboards, providing hidden access into your home.

These mud tubes act like termite highways, allowing them to travel safely between their nest and food sources in areas you wouldn’t normally expect. As you can see in the images, one of the mud tubes is built straight up in thin air and directly into the wooden beam.

Once termites gain entry into your home, they then have hidden access into door frames, walls, and even the roof.

Termites often go unnoticed until significant damage has already been done.

Our termite inspections for a standard-sized home start at only $250, and we service all of Adelaide and greater surrounds from the far Northern Suburbs, Adelaide Hills and all the way down to Victor Harbour.

Most Adelaide residents love possums, but they can cause serious damage and health risks when they move into your roof. Over time, they soak insulation and wiring with urine and droppings, leading to strong odours, potential electrical faults or fire risks, and health risks from bacteria, such as triggering asthma and allergies.

At EcoPest Group, our trained South Australian possum control team carries out a thorough roof inspection to identify entry points, seals these areas with durable materials to prevent re-entry, and safely removes and releases any possums stuck in your roof void after the proofing process.

If you are hearing loud thumping, running, hissing/coughing, or scratching noises in your roof void, especially around dawn or dusk, it might be time for a possum inspection. We can also help with rats and birds in roof voids.

It's bee swarming season in 🐝🐝

During spring, around half of the bees in a colony will leave in search of a new home. This natural process is how bees expand and create new colonies.

While scout bees search for a suitable nesting site, the queen typically rests on a branch, surrounded by worker bees who protect her. Once the scouts find a safe location, the entire swarm, including the queen, relocates to build a new nest. Swarms can travel more than 6 km from the original colony. Ideally, they settle in a hollow tree or another natural cavity, but sometimes they may end up inside walls, roofs, or sheds.

📞When to contact us about a bee swarm or nest.

⚠️ If you have a bee swarm on your property and are concerned about the safety of your family or pets, contact us and we will safely relocate the swarm.

❗ If you notice bees entering your roof, walls, or other structures, call us immediately before they establish a permanent nest.

Has a possum decided to call your roof home this winter in Adelaide❄️ 📞Contact us today on 139 007 for a free, eco-friendly possum control quote 📞

Our possum control is eco-friendly and involves:

1. Proofing the roof so the possums can't get back in.

2. Safely removing them from the roof void and releasing them back into their own territory.

Here are some signs that you may have a furry little friend living inside your roof.

1. Noises at Night
Scratching, scurrying, or thumping sounds, especially after dark, are a strong indicator. Possums are nocturnal, so you’ll hear them moving around or nesting when the house is quiet.

3. Visible Droppings
Possum droppings are large and tubular. They’re often found near entry points or in roof cavities.

4. Stains on Ceilings
Urine can seep through insulation and stain your ceiling, appearing as yellowish or brown patches.

5. Sightings
Seeing a possum on your roof or fence regularly may suggest it’s nesting nearby.

Adelaide, Here's a reminder to book your termite inspections🔍!

Here's a little story of a recent termite colony we eliminated after receiving a call from the property manager.

Even large termite colonies are very well hidden due to the fact they live under the ground and almost always leave a thin layer of wood to protect themselves. By the time a tenant or owner finds termite damage, it is usually extensive. This Adelaide local only noticed the termite damage once he put his foot through the floor.

Upon further investigation of the property during our termite inspection we found active termites in floor boards not only where the tenant found them with his foot but also in multiple rooms throughout the house, roof rafters, walls and doorways were also full of active termites.

For reference, the tenant had only been in the property for 2-3 years and the property was well maintained.

One of the most concerning parts about finding a termite colony this large is the potential it has to spread and the termites are already highly unlikely to be contained within this one property, neighbouring houses almost have no chance without good termite protection in place.

Similar to other pests that can invade from neighbouring houses so can termites either during their yearly flight of alates (seeing flying termites "alates" is another sign you may have a termite colony on or near your property) or via underground sub-colonies. Just think, even this large, now mature termite colony came from somewhere.

This is why the Australian standard recommends an annual termite inspection at a minimum. Early termite detection is extremely important for protecting your property from potentially huge economic loss, within a year a new termite queen can give birth to a large colony, and within 2 years it can become very extensive, as she grows she can lay more and more eggs, up to 30,000 a day. Being a preventable pest a lot of insurance companies also don't cover termites according to Google.

If you haven't had a termite inspection carried out recently you can contact us today to book your termite inspection, our highly experienced local technicians service all of Adelaide and surrounds, our annual termite inspections are only $250 for a standard 1-3 bedroom home and $290 for a 4-5 bedroom home.

Regarding the property in this story, rest assured our technicians have the termite colony under control and we have also installed our inground termite baiting and monitoring stations which will help to protect the home from any future termite attacks.
We are glad we have controlled this particular termite colony before the alates had a chance to spread across the suburb again in this year's flight and before they caused even more economic damage to this home. Large, mature termite colonies can produce up to 60,000 alates in a year to create new colonies.

You can contact us to book a termite inspection or for any other pest-related issues.
