🛠️ Chimney Bee Hive Removal – A Challenging Job Completed

We were recently called out to a home where a beehive had collapsed inside the brick chimney above the fireplace.
It seemed to appear a Small Hive Beetle attack took hold on an already stressed colony. These beetles then caused a “slime out” — where the honey in the comb turns into a fermented, slimy mess, leading to the total collapse of the hive. The honey had leaked down the chimney and onto the carpet, and the beetles had taken over the remaining comb.

Our team carefully removed all the collapsed honeycomb, cleaned out the honey residue and beetle larvae, and sanitized & sealed the chimney and surrounding area to prevent further issues.
This is a example of how quickly a beehive situation can escalate — especially in chimneys where they’re hard to spot until it’s too late.
