A PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM ADAM ❤️
I’ve been trying to work out how to write this because, after 14 years, it’s pretty hard to put everything this business has meant to me into a few words.
First of all, I just want to say thank you.
A genuine, heartfelt thank you to every single person who has supported me, my family and Suck It Up over the last 14 years.
When I first started, I never imagined what Suck It Up would become. What started as me trying to build a business and provide for my family became such a massive part of our lives.
And somewhere along the way, it became about so much more than cleaning carpets.
I’ve been invited into thousands of people’s homes. I’ve met people from every walk of life. I’ve heard their stories, watched families grow, had customers become friends and been trusted to help people when things haven’t gone quite to plan.
Sometimes it was something as simple as getting a stain out of a carpet that someone thought was ruined. Other times it was walking into someone’s home when they were stressed and overwhelmed and being able to say, “Don’t worry, we’ll work it out.”
Those moments have always meant something to me.
But the things I’ll probably remember the most aren’t the jobs.
They’re the people.
I’ll remember being in a position where we could help families who were doing it tough. I’ll remember seeing people’s faces when we were able to surprise them with Christmas presents or help them out in some small way when they needed it.
Those moments are worth more to me than any invoice I’ve ever sent.
And the reason we were able to do those things is because you supported us.
You booked a job. You recommended us to a mate. You tagged us on Facebook. You left a review. You stopped me in the street and said hello. You trusted me in your homes and businesses.
You allowed a little local business to grow into something I’m incredibly proud of.
So this next part is a little emotional for me.
Suck It Up Steam Cleaning is moving into a new chapter.
From January 2027, a local husband-and-wife team will be taking over the steam cleaning side of the business.
And I want to make something really clear…
This is NOT goodbye from Adam. ❤️
I’m not disappearing.
The reality is simply that everything has grown so much that I can’t keep trying to do it all myself.
Anyone who knows me knows that I’m always trying to build something, improve something or come up with the next idea 😂 — but eventually you have to realise that for something to keep growing, sometimes you need to let other good people take the reins.
I’ll still be around Suck It Up, helping the new owners, sharing everything I’ve learnt over the last 14 years and doing whatever I can to make sure the transition is a great one for them and, most importantly, for our customers.
For me, my focus will now turn heavily towards The Rug Laundry. 💛
We’ve got some massive plans for it, and I’ll be putting everything I’ve got into continuing its growth, including plans to hopefully open another shop very soon.
So while one chapter is changing, another one is really only just getting started.
Looking back over 14 years, there have been plenty of long days, late nights, stressful moments, mistakes, laughs and probably more grey hairs than I’d like to admit.
But I wouldn’t change the journey.
I’m proud of what we’ve built.
I’m proud that we’ve been able to employ people, support other local businesses, help our community and hopefully make a small difference to a few people along the way.
And I’m incredibly grateful that this community gave me the opportunity to do it.
From me, Shelley and our family, thank you for backing us for all these years.
I genuinely mean that.
Suck It Up wouldn’t be what it is today without you.
14 years down — and I’m not finished yet. ❤️
It’s not goodbye.
It’s just time for the next chapter.
Thank you for everything.
— Adam ❤️
