One of the biggest reasons we see poor circulation, cloudy water and pools that just won't stay clear is a filter that's crying out for a backwash.
The good news?

It's quick, it's easy, and we've put together this simple step-by-step guide to walk you through it.

Regular backwashing helps your filter do what it was designed to do—catch dirt, debris and the tiny particles that make your pool look dull.
If you've backwashed your filter and your pressure is still high, or your pool still isn't looking right, it might be time for a deeper clean or a media change.

Remember Marketing? 😂

Last year we took her along to the SPLASH! Trade Expo... and somehow she became completely obsessed with the little Zodiac spa robots. 🤖💦

We're still not sure whether she was there to help us find new products... or just adopt a robot. 😅

Well... she's coming back this year.

And if history is anything to go by, she'll probably convince us to bring home something we definitely weren't planning on buying. 😂

We'll be at SPLASH! Trade Expo on the 19th & 20th of August checking out the latest in pool and spa technology, new equipment, robots, chemicals, heating, automation and everything else that's coming for the 2026/27 season.

Tempted to just leave the pool until spring? 🍂

Honestly, it feels like the easy option. Turn everything down, ignore the leaves, stop testing the water and deal with it when the weather warms up.

But it is usually the most expensive shortcut in pool care.

A pool that is ignored all winter can quickly end up with crashed chlorine, leaves rotting on the bottom, stains setting in and small equipment faults going unnoticed. Then September arrives, everyone wants to swim, and instead you are paying for a full green pool clean-up.
