35% tint is legal right WRONG!! …
Sort of, let me explain…

FAQ number 1. What is the darkest legal tint I can have.

Answer: In QLD for passenger vehicles you are allowed no darker than 35% VLT (visual light transmittance) on the front driver and passenger doors and 20% VLT on all windows behind the driver.

( with VLT the smaller the number the darker it is eg. 20% is darker then 35%)

BUT!!! You need to factor in any colour that exists in the glass from factory.

Most modern car windows are not 100% clear.

What this means: if you use 35% window tint on glass that is not 100% clear your windows will NOT be legal.

Make sure your window tint professional checks your glass and discusses with you the tint most appropriate tint options for your windows.
