🌳🚽 Blocked Toilet? Tree Roots Could Be the Culprit!

We were recently called out to a blocked toilet that just wouldn’t drain properly.

After removing the toilet, we quickly found the problem—the sewer drain was completely packed with tree roots! 🌱

We extracted a massive root measuring approximately 2.5 metres long from the pipe. Once the roots were removed, the drain was flowing freely again.

Tree roots are one of the most common causes of blocked drains. They enter through small cracks or pipe joints, then continue to grow inside the pipe until they create a complete blockage.

If your toilet is gurgling, draining slowly, or backing up, don’t ignore the warning signs. Early intervention can save you from a much bigger repair bill.

🌳 When tree roots take over a stormwater drain… this is what we find!

Our team attended a property with a stormwater drain completely choked by tree roots.

Using our high-pressure water jetter, the boys got stuck into it and successfully removed an incredible 15–20 metres of roots from inside the pipe. 🌿💦

This video shows just how much root growth can build up over time and why regular drain maintenance is so important.

If your stormwater is slow to drain, overflowing, or backing up after rain, tree roots could be the culprit.

Smoke test on Collins St Melbourne 💨

Strong sewer odour reported on the 5th floor of a commercial building.

We carried out a full smoke test and quickly located the issue — a Studor vent had come off in the ceiling, allowing sewer gases to vent through the floor level.
