A ceramic coating is only as good as the environment it’s applied and cured in.
The difference between having your car ceramic coated at a professional shop vs outside in the elements is massive.
At a controlled shop:
• The paint is properly decontaminated and corrected first
• The coating is applied in a dust-free environment
• Temperature and humidity are controlled
• The coating gets the proper cure time
• No rain, pollen, dirt, bugs or moisture interfere with bonding
When a coating is applied outside or exposed too early:
• Dust and contaminants can get trapped in the coating
• Moisture can affect the curing process
• Water spotting can occur almost instantly
• Direct sun can cause coatings to flash to quickly
• Durability and performance can be reduced
• You may not get the gloss, slickness or longevity you paid for.
A ceramic coating isn’t just a “wipe on product” - the prep work, environment and curing process are what separate a true lasting coating from a quick temporary shine.
