This design and installation dances the line between compliance and non-compliance.

QLD has tight regulations around fencing and climbable zones. Because the pool acts as its own barrier, what we see here is achievable as long as you maintain the required 900mm non-climbable zone.

Building on a sloping block in spots like Mount Louisa or Castle Hill can drive traditional pool costs through the roof.

Because Plungie pools are incredibly rigid concrete structures, they are engineered to sit fully in-ground, semi-in-ground, or completely above-ground.

In essence they can become their own self-retaining shell. On a slope, a Plungie can act as its own retaining wall. Sitting it semi-above ground also saves you massive excavation costs if you happen to hit hard rock close to the surface.

Other than corrosion and the elements, shifting soil can crack traditional poured concrete and fibreglass pools.

Plungie precast concrete plunge pools are manufactured in a controlled factory environment using high-grade, pre-stressed concrete. Because they are cured uniformly, they achieve a massive compressive strength (often double that of standard on-site sprayed concrete).

The entire structure is strong enough to resist the external pushing and pulling of reactive clay soils as a single, solid unit, without the cracking risk of traditional concrete or the lifting risk of lightweight fibreglass.

In-Ground or Above?
A plunge pool gives you both options, with installation depth also being a preference. While aesthetics are a key part of the decision-making process, installation costs and fencing requirements can change dramatically.

A couple of recent installs. Pre-cast concrete pool delivered, craned in, and set into position. From excavation to pool in the ground, turnaround is typically 1–2 weeks, not months.
