Heads up people, incoming really bad weather!!

82 knots wind gusts on the south west of Victoria near Warrnambool on Wednesday by the ECMWF model shown up top left 💨 just insane!

There's a first. Arrived at a customers driveway and there was a stag attacking her front plant with its horns having a wonderful time. Gotta love working in the hills.

Occasionally the downpipes come straight off the gutter without a bend and down to the ground. Then the mulch in the gutter can wash down to the ground drains and block them. Which usually needs a plumber to disconnect the downpipes to clean it out. A Costly excercise. When you get a plumber to do this, (because we are not plumbers), get them to put in an inspection outlet at the base of the downpipe for you like this. It has a screw cap on the side of it, and next time your downpipes are blocked, you can undo the screw cap, put your hand in and remove all the mulch in the pipe, then flush it clean with a hose yourself. This will save you costly plumber visits, and can be done safely at ground level by yourself if a flooding event occurs.

Just a shout out to all our customers. Our ladders had to get repaired after they worked so hard, and broke some parts, so we are delayed getting back to you all this week. Our ladders are required to be fixed by a repairer who is accredited by "worksafe". We can't and wont use anyone else!! These accredited repairers are in rare supply in Melbourne, and we are not getting them returned to us until this Thursday so we will be back into it after that! Many apologies for the delays! Bit of useful information for fire season.

We’re sure you all know where your nearest Fire Hydrant is so that you don’t park on top of it or in front of it.

Make sure your visitors know as well because the house you save may be your own.

Hydrants are generally marked with a blue reflector & white triangle on the road. At times there will be a red and white marker pole beside the cover.

Atumn and the leaves are dropping. Always a good idea if you have deciduous trees to at least have the downpipes protected, or covered with a guard, so water can drain away and not backflow during weather.
