There’s not much better than a successful first check on termite bait stations 👌

🧇 This isn’t our typical Wednesday Waffle style, but it’s a really good demonstration of what actually happens to a pest control treatment after rain 🌧️🐜

A common misconception is that rain immediately “washes away” a treatment, but modern pest control products are far more advanced than that.

Most products we use come in a bottle containing only around 10% active ingredient. The other 90% is made up of components that help:
🧪 Keep the product stable
🫧 Stop it frothing in the tank
🛡️ Prevent it fouling in the bottle
📍 Help it adhere to surfaces properly

By the time it leaves our nozzle, the active ingredient is usually sitting around 0.05–0.1% concentration. As the water carrier evaporates, that active strongly bonds to most surfaces.

Interestingly, for a well-planned treatment, ☀️ UV exposure and 🌫️ dust coverage are often much bigger causes of premature breakdown than normal rainfall.

These are one of the most aggressive termite species in Australia, capable of causing serious structural damage before you even realise they’re there.

That’s why regular, full termite inspections in accordance with AS 3660.2 - 2017 and ongoing protection are so important.

Maintenance termite inspections are a great place to start. When was your last termite inspection?
