Hey everyone! Brody here, owner of Brody’s Detailing & Protection 👋
I wanted to share my thoughts on the upcoming card surcharge changes and let you know how we’ll be handling them from 1 October.
I’ve decided I won’t be increasing our current service prices because of these changes. I know having your vehicle professionally detailed or protected is an investment, and I appreciate everyone who chooses to spend their money with us.
Although customers will no longer pay a separate card surcharge, businesses will still be charged processing fees when a card payment is made.
For a typical booking of $350 to $750, a 1.6% processing fee works out to $5.60 to $12. Across a week or a month of bookings, those costs add up. These fees apply to the full payment, including the portion that covers products, materials and labour.
To help manage this, bank transfer will be our preferred payment method across all services. This is particularly helpful for larger ceramic coating and paint protection film bookings, where processing fees increase with the total invoice amount.
If bank transfer is convenient for you, choosing that option helps reduce our processing costs and makes a difference to our small local business.
Both deposits and final payments can be paid this way, with bank details provided on your invoice. Please use your invoice number as the payment reference and allow time for your final payment to clear before collection.
EFTPOS will still be available, and you’re welcome to use whichever option suits you best.
I believe in being open with our customers, and I wanted you to understand why we’re encouraging bank transfers as these changes come in.
Thank you for your bookings, recommendations, reviews and continued support. Every one of those things helps this business grow, and I’m grateful to everyone who trusts us to look after their vehicle.
