This National Carers Week, 11–17 October, we’re recognising the millions of Australians who provide unpaid care and support to a family member or friend.

Carers are often the people quietly working behind the scenes every day. They may be a partner, parent, son, daughter, sibling, relative or friend, providing practical support, encouragement, companionship and care, often while balancing work, family and other responsibilities.

Another group of our Support Workers completed their "Assist Clients with Medication" training last week. 💙💊

Delivered in-house at Gold Care by Registered Training Organisation Smarter Skills, the session provided another valuable opportunity for our team to strengthen their knowledge and practical skills around safe medication support.

Ongoing training and professional development are an important part of supporting our team, helping our Support Workers continue to feel confident, capable and well prepared in their roles.

A big thank you to Lesley Jones and Steve Hiscocks from Smarter Skills for another engaging and informative session, and to our Support Workers for getting involved and making the most of the training! 👏

Did you know we offer Supported Independent Living? 🏡💛

Gold Care Home Services provides Supported Independent Living (SIL) support in the participant’s own home, helping eligible NDIS participants with everyday tasks so they can live as independently as possible.

Depending on each participant’s individual needs, support can be provided during the day, overnight or on a 24-hour basis.

Our experienced Support Workers can assist with personal care, meal preparation, household tasks, developing daily living skills, building routines and accessing the community, with support tailored to each participant’s needs, preferences and goals.

SIL is about having the right support in your own home to build confidence, develop independence and have greater choice and control over everyday life.
