New hardwood flooring is going down at our Avalon project!

The team are laying tongue and groove hardwood flooring using a secret nailer. Rather than fixing through the top of each board, the nails go in on an angle and are concealed by the next board.

This keeps the fixings hidden and gives the floor a much cleaner finish.

Once all the flooring is laid, we’ll be sanding and finishing the timber to bring out its natural colour and grain.

Timber flooring is just one part of what we do. At Coastal Timber Works, we specialise in renovations and extensions, taking care of your whole project from design through to completion.

Making better use of the space you already have can completely change how a home feels, especially when the renovation also gives you the chance to fix existing issues properly.

On this project, we’re replacing areas affected by water damage while opening up the living spaces, modernising the flooring and updating the finishes.

So while the home will look and feel completely different once it’s finished, the work behind the walls and under the floors is just as important as what you see at the end.

Getting started on the demo stage of this home renovation!

Water damage was a major influence for this customer to do this project. As you can see, the floorboards have been damaged over time due to poor drainage and runoff from the backyard.

Before we can start putting everything back together, we need to strip it back, finish assessing the damage and make sure the drainage issues are properly addressed so it doesn’t happen again.
