Hard to believe it’s already been over six months since I closed the doors on HUSSLN and made the move over to Southern Rod & Custom.

After 16 years of HUSSLN and six years in the Tatura shop, it was definitely a big change. There were plenty of mixed emotions packing everything up and closing that chapter, but six months down the track I’m really happy with where things have ended up.

I’m still doing what I’ve always done, just now from the new detailing studio at Southern Rod & Custom in Shepparton.

It’s been great seeing so many familiar faces and long-time HUSSLN customers continue to bring their cars across to me. Some of you have been supporting me for a lot of years now, and I really do appreciate it.

We’ve had a bit of everything through the new shop already — new cars in for Modesta protection, daily drivers, classics, hot rods, muscle cars and plenty of special stuff in between.

While the HUSSLN name might not be above the door anymore, I’m still behind the detailing and still putting the same time, care and attention into every car that comes through.

And for anyone wondering — we’re still the place to come for premium detailing in the Goulburn Valley. Same bloke, same standards, just a new shop and a new banner.

A massive thanks to everyone who supported HUSSLN over the years and to everyone who has continued to support me since the move.

It’s been a great first six months in the new shop and I’m looking forward to what’s ahead.

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind.

When we announced the closure of HUSSLN Auto Detailing, the messages, calls and support we received honestly meant the world.
To everyone who reached out, shared a post, sent kind words or simply checked in — thank you.
The support from our customers, friends and the wider community has never gone unnoticed, and it certainly wasn’t taken for granted.

Since that announcement, an exciting opportunity has come up that we couldn’t ignore.

From April 13th, we’ll be continuing in the detailing industry, joining the team at Southern Rod & Custom in Shepparton.

This is a natural fit and a great meeting of two businesses that share the same values — quality workmanship, pride in presentation, and genuine passion for the automotive industry.
Bringing detailing together with high-end custom builds and restorations under one roof creates a stronger, more complete service for customers.

Everything we offered at HUSSLN — paint correction, ceramic coatings, detailing packages and our same high standards — will still be available.
That includes our premium Modesta paint protection coatings, which we’ll proudly continue to offer at the new location. The only change is the address and the name above the door.

Moving forward once open, all bookings and enquiries will be made directly through Southern Rod and Custom.

We genuinely see this as a huge positive step forward.
To be working under the Southern Rod and Custom banner and alongside such a respected and skilled team is something we’re incredibly proud of.
The culture, the craftsmanship and the reputation they’ve built align perfectly with how we approach our work.
We can’t wait to contribute, collaborate and continue raising the bar together.

Another brand new Mazda straight off the showroom floor and into the studio for the ultimate protection package.

This one received Modesta BC-04 to protect the paint, delivering incredible depth, gloss and long-term durability from day one. Paired with that, we applied EGC to all exterior glass surfaces.

EGC is specifically designed for glass, creating a durable hydrophobic layer that dramatically improves water repellency. In the rain, water beads and sheets off the windscreen at speed, improving visibility and making driving safer and more comfortable. After 16 years in business, including six wonderful years in Tatura, I’ve made the difficult decision to close the workshop on April 2nd. It hasn’t been an easy call, but it’s the right one, allowing me to step back and spend more meaningful time with my family.

This journey has been about far more than cars. It’s been about people, friendships, loyalty and community support. While this chapter is coming to a close, it’s not goodbye forever, and I hope to return in the future.
To everyone who has supported the business over the years — thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will miss you all more than you know.
