Very important message from the guys down at Gold Coast and Brisbane Snake Catcher - thanks Tony, Brooke and the guys

Its these sorts of photos that scare us the most..
This is an eastern brown snake. The second most venomous land snake on the planet. And this person picked it up and played with it thinking it could have been a brown snake 😱
please for your own safety don't pick up snakes!
I'm sure your family don't want to have to visit you in ICU.
I'm sure your family family friends don't want to have to say their last good byes to you.
I'm sure you don't want your children to think its okay to pick up snakes.. and I'm sure as he'll positive you don't want your kids picking up snakes and ending up in ICU or worse.
Please if you see a snake.. stop and think about what could happen if it was a highly venomous snake and it bit you. Stay away from them.. and certainly don't pick them up please!

So it’s been brought to my attention that a Northside Snake catcher has been telling the media the Brisbane is the number one spot for snake bites this year and that they have been busier then they have been. And that snakes are invading Brisbane. This is just for fame and to get media attention.

This must be a newish snake catcher and is going around scaremongering people to get attention from media. Brisbane is certainly not the number one spot for snake bites nor has this season been any busier then any other of anything it’s been slower.

I remember a snake catcher which was their frist season last year that started up telling the media that last year was their busiest and the snakes where bigger then normal. And this was just their frist year.

This year has been slower then normal due to weather. This time last year I was doing atleast 10 calls a day due to the record temperatures we where having. This year I’m doing about half that as the weather has been off and on and temps have been below normal with a fair bite of rain around.

Land clearing has seen a slight increase of snakes each year but we are certainly not being over run by snakes.

The Government is handing out these permits to catch venomous snakes left right and centre without checking them. they know nothing about snakes, misidentify snakes continuously and to the point of one a few weeks back bracking a snakes spin while attempting to remove it. A vet even clarified this from a video.

So make sure you get a catcher who had been in the industry more then a couple years and actually gives you the right advice frist. Iv had people contact me regarding something that they were told by another catcher which was totally untrue and false and just scaremongering.

So please you want the right information and advice please don’t hesitate to contact me or I can put you on to another catcher that is highly recommended in your area. To much rubbish and scaremongering going on out there. And these people are meant to be telling the actual truth not just something that will get them more fame.

I know of a few who have a bad name for them self in the industry because of this reason.

There is a big difference about spreading false information and spreading the right information. We as snake catchers should be spreading the correct awearness about snakes not making people more scared of them. A lot of catchers out there bust their back sides to spread the correct information about snake awareness only to have it undone but someone spreading false information.

Please report all koala sightings by calling our phone number below. (Please don’t send a text as we may not see it straight away)

Our team of Volunteers work 24 hours, 7 days a week rescuing sick, injured, orphaned and deceased koalas within the Moreton Bay region. We also love to hear about healthy koala sightings.

🐍PYTHONS STUDIES SHOWS NORTHWEST IS A BIODIVERSITY HOTSPOT🐍

Did you know the Pilbara is home to the smallest python in the world?

The pygmy python is one species involved in new research from the Australian National University.

The study used genetics to study a number species of small pythons across Australia - and it found the Stimson’s python and the Children’s Python are actually the same species.

The study also confirmed the Pilbara region, along with the Kimberley and Cape York in Queensland, are real hotspots for biodiversity.

Hear more about the study from lead researcher Dr Damien Esquirre, using the link in the comments.

It's not just the birds and possums that are struggling with the floods. Make sure you look out for our reptiles too. 🦎

This little one was spotted in Narrabeen bobbing underwater, but was luckily spotted.
