An existing Woolworths store that had stood for over 50 years in Rosebud was completely demolished to make way for new Dan Murphy's and BCF stores. Included was the complete reconstruction of nearly 10,000 m2 of surrounding carpark and landscaped areas. The McDonald Plumbing team was glad to successfully deliver the complete plumbing works. This Dan Murphy's store was built 8 weeks quicker than another Dan Murphy's store being built elsewhere, at the same time. We are glad to have contributed to such an achievement.

The McDonald Plumbing team have delivered a complete plumbing installation for many new shops in existing major commercial and retail premises. Some of which have included complex gas installations involving the installation of commercial cooking equipment. This type of work is highly regulated, due to the potential risks that may result from an unsafe and/or non-compliant gas installation in a commercial facility. It is one of the last types of plumbing works where every installation is subject to rigorous inspections by the regulatory body. Regulations are continually changing and tough penalties and requests to show cause have been introduced by Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) for any defects identified. We pride ourselves on the delivery of countless complex gas installations, over many years, without a single defect from ESV inspectors.

The McDonald Plumbing team have been working over the past six months to deliver the below ground component of the hydraulic services (plumbing) and civil drainage works for construction of a new 2 story storage facility on a 14,000 m2 site in Chelsea Heights. Successful delivery of this phase of the works has involved major detailed excavation and the installation of many different pipe types and jointing methods. In order to satisfy the builder's high expectations in terms of quality and time frame, this has required the highest level of precision and the greatest depth of capability generally faced in our game. Our team are incredibly proud of this achievement.

The team completed replacement of this 1/2 acre heavily corroded roof in Hastings, on budget and on time. Work included replacement of the roof sheeting, box gutters, sumps, capping and reconfiguration of downpipes and installation of a new suspended overflow system. Despite this challenging installation being further complicated by several functioning tenancies beneath, the outcome was fault free. All 14 tonne of scrap and waste metal was loaded and carted to the nearest metal recycling depot.

For those wondering how work is progressing behind the scenes at the Rosebud Plaza, here are a few photos. We are currently waiting on completion of concrete slab removal works, before our commencement of the below ground sewer and trade waste drainage for the new Woolworths and revamped food court area. We have around 500 drainage points to install in this section alone. Busy times ahead.

Rosebud residents can breathe a sigh of relief. Ika Sushi is back at the Rosebud Plaza! Although only an expected 9 month relocation until the new food court area is redeveloped, the temporary shop needed to acheive full compliancy in a super fast time frame. There are not many good photos to take of the plumbing as the tenants were literally bringing in their gear as we were making the final connections.

Here we are progressing through the installation of a large scale storm water retention and drainage system. Work is being performed as part of the construction of a new visitors car park at a school in Mount Eliza. When each piece of 750mm diameter concrete pipe weighs 1.2 tonne and the installation is required to comply with the engineer's design within millimeters, this work requires a rugged and delicate approach simultaneously. We use our high accuracy pipe lasers and rotational lasers to make the fine measurements and use heavy excavators to handle the heavy lifting.

This Blairgowrie property has recently been connected to the pressurised sewer system. Here we are removing the redundant effulent pump well, sewer treatment plant and septic tank to make way for construction of a pool. Tight access has prevented use of large machinery. As such we have been required to cut out the huge and heavy concrete tanks (several tonne each) piece by piece. A long and laborious task but necessary to allow for construction work to proceed. The end result is set to be amazing.
