We’ve just released a new article on LinkedIn titled: Every Child Needs to Feel Known.

It covers important aspects of early childhood and the fact that children need to feel seen, understood and supported as individuals.

Some children are loud and confident. Some are quiet. Some need more time to settle. Some have big feelings, favourite games, new worries or small wins that matter to them.

The article talks about children’s wellbeing, the “Every Child is a Star” theme from Family Day Care Australia’s JiGSAW Magazine Issue 99, and why small, familiar family day care settings can help children feel safe, settled and known.

The Kangaroo Valley project is getting out there!

The Cares R Us team visited the Nowra office of Fiona Phillips MP, Federal Member for Gilmore, to introduce the project and talk about reaching more families across the region.

We’re working to bring more flexible family day care options to Kangaroo Valley and every new conversation helps more people hear about what we’re building.

The momentum is growing, and we’re excited about what’s ahead!

Making children feel safe through gentle play 💛

When children feel safe, they are more likely to explore, have fun and do things at their own pace.

Our Kangaroo Valley Coordinator met with the state member for Kiama, Katelin Mclnerney to introduce the Kangaroo Valley project.

Cares R Us have been working with the local community to support flexible family day care options in the area and provide a stronger support pathway for children, families and the wider community.

It was a good opportunity to share what we are working on and look forward to having more conversations. 💛

One of the nice things about being in Kangaroo Valley is how much of this is around us.

Open grass, trees, gardens, fresh air, and little places that make the community feel connected.

It also gives the children room to notice things, ask questions, run around, slow down, and learn from what is right in front of them.

Simple, everyday learning with a pretty good view too 💛

Part of nurturing children as an educator is getting them outdoors and into nature.

Even better when you have a small farm in your backyard.

Children love being outside, especially when there is something to do.

Fresh air, muddy hands, exploring, and little discoveries along the way 🌿💛
