Thermal imaging doesn't allow us to look through walls but it can offer some excellent hints as to the presence of issues that would otherwise be inaccessible or invisible, this one was a recent active termite nest located behind a gyprock wall, note the presence of moisture at the edge of the workings (the darker/cooler area) around the concentration of live termites in the wall cavity/roof space at the corner of the room (the warmer/lighter area)

Geez its hot! humid and stormy weather on the horizon today.

Here in Queensland the storm season runs from October through to April, during this season in particular expect large volumes of rain in short periods of times, one essential piece of maintenance that should be performed BEFORE and AFTER storm season is the clearing of gutters to ensure water drains to stormwater drains and away from the house, I see A LOT of gutters that are full of leaves and are causing damming and overflows of the gutters which in turn leads to roof leaks and damage to eaves sections and internal ceilings and eventually leads to corrosion of gutters where moisture is retained far longer than it should be.

A little bit of easy maintenance can save you major dollars in the long term.
