This says exactly what so many professional cleaners are thinking 🙌💕
I've noticed something that seems to happen in the cleaning industry far more than any other trade...
“Looking for a cleaner. I'll pay $30 an hour. Must be insured. Must have experience."😠
Imagine posting:
"Looking for an electrician. I'll pay $40 an hour."
Or...
"Need a plumber. This is my budget."
It just doesn't happen.
Professional cleaners are business owners. We carry insurance, pay for equipment, products, fuel, training, bookkeeping, marketing, superannuation, taxes, and countless other business expenses. Let alone we are experienced in cleaning.
A quote isn't just a number—it's based on the size of the job, the condition of the home, the time required, the level of service, and the costs of running a professional business.
If you have a budget, that's completely okay. But instead of telling professionals what you'll pay, ask for quotes and choose the one that best suits your needs.
As an industry, I think we need to stop normalising clients setting our prices for us.
Respect the business. Respect the cleaner.
