💎 POLISHING 💎

Over the years a car will end up collecting some nasty defects in its natural day-to-day use: Swirls, Scratches, Scuffs, Iron particles (which then rusts on the surface), and other bits that hide in your little clear-coat craters. As the saying goes.. “it’ll buff out” usually applies to these scenarios with the right prep work. As long as you haven’t rubbed a tree trunk on the side of your car, results as seen below can be expected ◡̈

💎 CLAY-BARRING 💎

After a car has undertaken an extensive wash and de-ironising process, it is sometimes clay-barred before polishing, a clay bar is literally just that… a bar of clay, it is slightly abrasive and of course tacky so as it glides across paint (with lubricantion) it picks up any remaining stubborn contaminants to leave the paint 100% clean before it’s corrected with a polishing compound. The reason? Well imagine trying to sand a piece of wood with a rock ontop of it, not gonna go so well 😉

💎 IRON DECONTAMINATION 💎

When your car’s paint is corrected before it’s protected, it goes through a decontamination process. After the car is washed it will have a de-ironising compound sprayed into the paint’s surface in order to break down the iron particles imbedded into it (surface rust); showing up purple as seen in the video. This allows for another process known as clay-barring to have less of a chance at causing additional abrasions to the paint whilst picking up the remaining contaminants.
