It’s officially my last day as the Owner/Operator of The Laundry Pad. If you’re in town poke your head in and say goodbye.
I will miss all the friendly faces dropping in.
To my Tatty. What can I say.I will miss you terribly. You are one hell of a worker and just a beautiful person inside and out. You will go a long way in life with your work ethics 🥰
Elva you have always been my Rock (and my drinking buddy) and will come in at the drop of a hat (even yesterday) to help love you long time 🥰

I’m excited to announce
The Laundry Pad has SOLD and will be UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT as of Wednesday 1st May 2024.
First and foremost I can not thank the community enough for your ongoing support over the past 6 years. What a roller coaster ride it has been.
My staff (too many to name) you are all amazing and stood by my side for the MANY ups and downs.
For me now the laundry door closes and my caravan door opens to work my way around Australia.

OPEN FOR BUSINESS
at own risk
After Tuesday night’s meeting and the overwhelming support from community members I have decided i will be opening the doors of The Laundry Pad. It was made very clear that it is needed.
Hopefully the council rectify the water issues in a reasonable time frame.

The first thing that comes up when you go to post on FB is
What’s on your mind?
Well where do i start
Firstly im overwhelmed with the supportive comments messages and calls.
I feel Im letting down so many businesses and comunity members by closing the doors but i have to keep reminding myself that it is Oberon Council that has let you all down.
A business advisor visited me yesterday and reminded me of what I have survived during my 6 years in business
Shop Fire
Bush Fires
Floods
Covid
Gas Outage
All these were out of our control and we got through.
The Water Quality is also out of our control but could be fixed by Oberon Council who has control.
The Laundry Pad has employed up to 12 local employees at one time.
We have serviced
Motels
Pubs
4 Wedding Venues
30 plus Bnbs
The elderly at our Hospital
Logging Companies
The Timber Mills
Farmers
Teachers
The Vets
Hairdressers
Cafes
And so many more
These are all now going to have to outsource.
The community needs to rally together to prevent Oberon Council from destroying more businesses like mine. The care factor appears to be Zero from the hirachy.

It is with a very heavy heart I am announcing the closure of
The Laundry Pad
effective immediately.
The Laundry Pad has been servicing Oberon and surrounds for 1 month off 6 years.
This decision has not come lightly but as most of you are aware I have been discussing water quality issues with Oberon Council since September 2020 and have had no resolution.
The continual cost of replacing destroyed linen, filters, machine repairs and most of all retaining my sanity has taken its toll and it is no longer a viable business.
I will contact all my linen hire customers directly and help you source other suppliers and as for the walk ins I’m really sorry but you will have to travel to Bathurst or Lithgow.
