This Nissan 180SX guard roll came up really well overall.

But one section told a different story.

A dent appeared where there had been previous repair work.

And this is the part people need to understand:

It is not always the bog that is the issue.

It is the damage underneath.

If the panel was never repaired properly, the tension in that area is not the same as factory metal.

Normally, some small guard rolling dents can be encouraged back with the right tap.

This one would not move.

Dent Craft later confirmed there was repair and filler in that area.

That is why guard rolling always needs realistic expectations, especially on older models

This Tesla Model Y started as factory pearl white.

Now it is being changed to a turquoise grey-green using colour TPU paint protection film.

This is not normal vinyl.

Modern colour PPF gives you the colour change while still protecting the original paint underneath.

Self-healing top coat.
Paint protection.
Different look.
Factory paint still underneath.

The film takes the abuse.

That is the point.

Deborah’s Ford Ranger Sunliner camper came in before a trip to Melbourne.

This was not just a quick wash and coat.

The cab was polished first to refine the clear coat and bring up the clarity and shine.

Then OPTiX FMJ Graphene was applied.

That is the part people often misunderstand.

The prep creates the clean foundation.

FMJ then adds a tough bonded glass-like coating layer over the surface, which helps protect it and pushes gloss, slickness and reflections further again.

The camper box was cleaned with isopropyl alcohol, then coated with two layers of FMJ.

We also coated the roof and solar panel.

Because on a long trip, those areas cop everything.

Bugs.
Bird droppings.
Rain.
Road grime.
Tree sap.
Heat.

Coating does not make it maintenance-free.

But it makes it a hell of a lot easier to clean and maintain after the trip.
