Certainly didn't plan on having at least a few days off from my little business

but..

when The Man slides into home-base connecting with the catcher while playing Masters Baseball Sunday sustaining a very decent anterior ankle dislocation —requiring immediate surgical relocation— a snapped ankle ligament AND a fractured fibula —requiring fundamentally a cable tie operation ("Tightrope Fixation") ..

well then, a week off to get him situated it is.

"You should hire staff Kat and expand your business"

Let me explain in as simple terms as I can why this will not be happening.

When cleaning employees from big-staff companies enter your home, they are told how long they are to be there - typically 2 people for an hour at a regular maintenance job (a 2hr clean). They fill that hour with specific duties — typically one will clean the kitchen & vaccuum while the other will clean the bathroom & mop — and anything not done is missed or "saved for next time". They clock on when they are gloved up; not when they arrive, after they have unpacked the goods needed, have entered, scoped their duties THEN and only then is when they are told to clock in and their payment start.

As you can see, the process to get to the point when cleaning begins has been enough to lower the energy your home will then get - resulting in below par work.

The mindset is making that hourly wage.
The mentality is "that'll do".
It's just a job.

I worked in this environment for 2 big companies before I went solo and trust me when I say, the girls consistently felt they were underappreciated by their employer which then reflected on the job.

When hiring a sole-trader who uses not only their name as their branding but their word as their honour, you get a completely different level of energy.

When they enter your home you know they are there to give you the best they can, because that's what they are offering; and what you are paying for. They go room-to-room, leave no stone unturned, no corner unchecked.

The mindset is to deliver your home back to you the best it can be.
The mentality is "that's the best effort I can offer."
It's passion.

Finding this care in staffing is hard. So hard that it won't be happening here.

Now you'll never hear me bitch about other companies, because I am where I am for having been with them ..and learning exactly how they operate.

Massive thankyou and congratulations to Tisha Kav Photography who this year I chose as gifting her spectacular calenders as your main gift in my Christmas appreciation bundles for you all.

Tisha raised a whopping $2500 with her calender sales towards our South East Animal Welfare League beating 2024's $1350 donation!

How great is it to be part of that hey, and isn't it utterly gorgeous?

1 commercial, 2 homes and my B&B done and dusted so completes the year known as 2025 ..

And what a year she was too! Woofta!

Some came, some left, some sporadic, others opting for regular services, babies born, pets lost, kids left home with others returning. Commercial upkeep, residential maintenance, end of leases, for sale cleans, new homes needing lovin, B&B's with surprises, windows, ovens, mould and rodents ...ahh this year absolutely had it all it spades!!

Now you may have read elsewhere others proclaim they have the best jobs but I truly do. To be trusted in your sanctuaries to bring the peace & mental-wellness, love and care I do fills me with more goodness than I know the words to express. I utterly love what I bring you all.

With each and every one of you - thank you for your support and for you, so much.

Have yourselves an exceptional & safe New Year's and here's to the new being a stellar year for us all.
