Lichen-covered roofs? We've got a different way of tackling them!

That stubborn yellow growth you see on rooftops often gets left untreated. Why? Because removing it can be tricky, especially when it means getting people up on the roof.

Well, not anymore! 👀

Using our Wash Drones, we apply Wet & Forget directly to the roof, treating the lichen without anyone setting foot on the tiles.

✅ No walking on the roof
✅ No high-pressure washing
✅ No unnecessary risk of cracked tiles

And the best part? The treatment keeps working long after the drone has landed, gradually breaking down the lichen over time.

🤝 Calling all exterior cleaning and pressure washing businesses!

Got customers with lichen-covered roofs? Think of us as an extension of your team. We can partner with you on jobs, bringing drone technology to the tricky work at height.

Monday morning. Lights on. Let’s get washing.

Four Wash Drones vans rolling out for another busy week ahead.

The drone got the waterfront views.🌴 The pilot got the hard work...

Our Wash Drones crew spent a week working on the Shangri-La Hotel in Cairns.

With the marina on one side and a 255-room hotel on the other, our drone probably had the best seat in the house. For the pilot, though, it wasn't quite as relaxing as the view suggests.

Navigating balconies, columns and tricky angles across the hotel's exterior certainly kept the team on their toes throughout the week.

But that's all part of the fun. Every building brings a different challenge, and this one came with a pretty spectacular backdrop.

Not your average week at the office!

If you've been watching Wash Drones from the sidelines, there's never been a better time to get involved!

Drone cleaning is an emerging industry that's changing the way we maintain buildings and infrastructure, and Wash Drones is right at the forefront.

That's where you come in! We're actively expanding our network and urgently looking for people in Sydney and Brisbane who want to be part of this growing industry.

→ Drone Pilots - Put your flying skills to work on real commercial cleaning projects.

→ Franchisees - Get behind an innovative business model in an emerging market, with customer demand already creating opportunities.

Three apartment blocks.
Two days.
Two Aspira wash drones operating at the same time.

For the first time, we deployed two Drones and two pump systems simultaneously, cleaning separate apartment buildings side by side.

With more than 20 years of mould build-up across parts of the complex, there was plenty of work to get through.

But the bigger story is what this represents. As more Wash Drones enter operation, contractors can start thinking beyond replacing traditional access methods on a single building.

Multiple drones. Multiple operators. Multiple buildings. All working simultaneously.

It means getting significantly more work done in a day, without needing to scale people working at height in the same way.

A pretty exciting glimpse at where exterior building cleaning is heading.

When floodwaters recede, the visible damage is often only the beginning.

Flooding is not unfamiliar to the city of Lismore. In 2022, water levels exceeded 14 metres. Then again in 2025, floodwaters rose above 9.3 metres, impacting the C*D and surrounding residential areas.

However, once the water retreats, the aftermath continues. Flood events frequently leave behind contamination and rapid mould growth across buildings and community infrastructure.

Wash Drones was engaged to assist in restoring the exterior of Lismore Cinema, where significant mould had formed more than nine metres up the facade.

Multiple controlled treatment passes were required to progressively break down the contamination.

After several hours of aerial cleaning and sustained treatment, the building was restored as close to its original condition as possible and, most importantly, returned to a safe and hygienic state.

We are proud to have had the opportunity to support this remarkable city.

Drone Flyer Spotlight: Geraldo Sansone

Drones aren’t just for filming anymore – they’re redefining how we protect and maintain our world.

Meet Geraldo Sansone, Chief Remote Pilot at WashDrones®, with over 3,000 hours of commercial flying experience. His team harnesses drone and soft-wash technology to clean buildings and landmarks that are difficult or unsafe to reach – from towering glass facades to Goulburn’s iconic Big Merino.

For Geraldo, the secret is preparation. Every project is backed by detailed planning, risk assessments, safe work zones, and weather monitoring. “The drone is just the tool – preparation is the craft,” he explains.

WashDrones® was created to replace dangerous, outdated methods like scaffolding, lifts and rope access with a safer, smarter alternative. Operators remain on the ground while drones deliver consistent results without disruption.

From historic sandstone cathedrals to large-scale infrastructure, the WashDrones® team applies precision flight control and conservation-grade care. Every pilot undergoes 250+ hours of training and rigorous testing to ensure safe operations in complex environments.

Geraldo’s advice to fellow operators? Double your checks, respect the rules, and prioritise safety above all else.
