At IKON Services, we recognise that R U OK Day is not just one day of the year, it is a commitment we make every day. Over the past two weeks, more than 15 sessions have been delivered across the country, reinforcing the importance of prioritising mental health and wellbeing in our daily lives.

With team members representing over 43 countries, we proudly celebrate the diversity of our workforce. To ensure support is accessible to everyone, IKON has intentionally partnered with an Employee Assistance Provider that offers translation services, enabling employees to receive help in a language they feel most comfortable with.

Looking after our mental health is a shared responsibility. Through our leadership programs and everyday commitment to checking in, listening, and providing support, we continue to foster a workplace culture where every person feels valued, connected, and cared for.

This week, IKON Waste Solutions hosted the Hot Loads Project Launch, bringing together the partners and collaborators supporting this important industry initiative.

Lithium-ion battery fires are an increasing risk across the waste industry. IKON Waste Solutions is proud to help fund a project focused on developing a practical technology solution to detect and suppress these fires in waste collection trucks before they escalate.

RMIT University provided an update on the technology currently being developed, including progress made toward improving early detection and fire suppression capability.

The event was also a valuable opportunity to bring everyone involved together in one place, to connect face-to-face, exchange ideas and recognise the collaboration, research and investment behind the project.

Meaningful connections make stronger teams.

Recently, our IKON management team came together for the MindFit for Work program developed by Black Dog Institute, an opportunity to step away from the day-to-day, connect with one another and have meaningful conversations about mental fitness and the role we play as leaders.

A key takeaway was the importance of creating workplaces where people feel connected, supported and safe to be themselves. Leadership isn’t only about delivering outcomes - it’s about how we communicate, how we show up for one another, and the environment we create for our people.

A big thank you to Amy for facilitating the session and creating the space for such open and valuable conversations.

💙 Showing Up for Our Mates at Spud's Ride #6 🚴

Today, Team IKON proudly took part in Spud’s Ride 2026 at Marvel Stadium, riding continuously for four hours in support of the Danny Frawley Community, part of the Black Dog Institute, and the mental health initiatives this important event helps make possible.

Each team member played a part in keeping the wheels turning, demonstrating the power of teamwork, connection and showing up for one another.

We’re incredibly proud of everyone who rode, supported and helped bring such positive energy to the event. It was a privilege to stand alongside the wider community and help carry forward Danny Frawley’s legacy.

A huge congratulations to the organisers, riders, and volunteers who helped create an incredible event while continuing to champion awareness, connection and positive mental health outcomes.

This project represents far more than a new contract. It reflects years of building trusted relationships, demonstrating capability, and a shared commitment to delivering exceptional facility and site experiences.

Thousands of passionate Socceroos fans. One iconic Melbourne venue. One exceptional team.

Over the past few weeks, Fed Square has come alive as thousands of passionate Socceroos supporters gathered to cheer on Australia.

Behind the scenes, the IKON team has been there every step of the way — our frontline cleaning team operating in a high-pressure, emotionally charged environment where crowd safety, quick response times and premium presentation are all equally important. Our in-house IKON Waste & Hygiene teams have strategically adapted service routes to ensure optimal service delivery during this high-demand period.

The feedback from our client says it all:
"I wanted to personally thank the team for their work before, during and after the game on Sunday.
The Square looked like any other day when I came this morning – this is a good thing."

We're incredibly proud of our extended team and everything they've achieved throughout the live site series.

Now onto the next one. This Saturday, the Aussies take on Egypt, and we'll be back at Federation Square, ready to do it all again - Come down and help cheer on our Socceroos and support everything that is great about our city!

A huge thank you to our IKON team members who took part in Sleep At The ’G in support of youth homelessness.

Hosted by Melbourne City Mission - MCM at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) Ground, the event raises awareness and vital funds for the thousands of young Victorians experiencing homelessness each night.

Participants spent the night at the MCG while taking part in activities, hearing powerful stories, and reflecting on the challenges faced by vulnerable young people in our community.

On any given night, more than 7,000 young Victorians aged 12–24 are without a safe place to call home, many couch surfing, sleeping in cars, or staying in unsafe housing.

We’re incredibly proud of our team members who gave up their comfort for a night to support such an important cause.

IKON proudly congratulates Dr Shannon Kilmartin-Lynch, winner of the IKON Services Environmental Sustainability Award at the 2026 7NEWS Young Achiever Awards Victoria.

Presented by IKON’s Executive General Manager - Safety, Sustainability & Governance, Nick Walker, the award recognises outstanding leadership and innovation in sustainability.

An Indigenous scientist and civil engineer, Dr Shannon is transforming the construction industry through pioneering research that repurposes waste materials, including coffee grounds, face masks, and wood biochar, into stronger, carbon-neutral concrete solutions. His work is helping address landfill waste, reduce emissions, and advance circular economy practices across the industry.

As a Professor and Associate Dean (Indigenous) at Monash University’s Faculty of Engineering, Dr Shannon is also leading important initiatives that embed Indigenous perspectives into education and research.
Congratulations, Dr Shannon, on this well-deserved achievement and your incredible contribution to a more sustainable future.

We also extend our congratulations to finalists Belle Hayman, Lili Xu and Clancy Lester for their outstanding contributions and recognition. A special thank you as well to our judge, Clayton Shehan, for his valued support and contribution to the awards process.
