🌿 TITHING REMOVES THE CURSE OF POVERTY

A Covenant Principle, Not a Church Tax

Tithing in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is not about enriching an institution—it is about breaking a spiritual curse and unlocking covenant blessings that God has always attached to obedience.

From Genesis to the New Testament, the Lord has consistently taught that poverty is not merely economic—it is often spiritual, and that covenant faithfulness opens the windows of heaven.

📖 Tithing Is Older Than Any Modern Church

Long before there was a law of Moses—or a modern church—God established tithing as a covenant principle.

“And blessed be the most high God… And he gave him tithes of all.”
(Genesis 14:19–20)

Abraham tithed voluntarily, not by force. This shows tithing is rooted in faith and gratitude, not obligation.

Jacob later confirmed the same covenant:

“Of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.”
(Genesis 28:22)

Tithing was a response to blessing, not a prerequisite demanded by men.

🔓 The Curse of Poverty Is Broken by Covenant Obedience

God Himself teaches that withholding tithes brings a curse, and obedience removes it.

“Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me… Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse… and prove me now herewith… if I will not open you the windows of heaven.”
(Malachi 3:8–10)

Notice:
• The curse is spiritual before it is financial
• God invites us to “prove” Him
• Blessings are overflowing, not minimal

This principle remains true in the restored Church today.

🌍 Where Does Tithing Go? Look at the Fruit.

Jesus taught that truth is recognized by fruit, not claims.

“By their fruits ye shall know them.”
(Matthew 7:20)

In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, tithing funds are used to:

✔ Build temples and chapels worldwide
✔ Provide disaster relief across nations
✔ Support humanitarian aid regardless of religion
✔ Educate, feed, and care for the poor
✔ Strengthen families and local congregations
✔ Ensure no paid clergy at the local level

This reflects the biblical model:

“Neither was there any among them that lacked.”
(Acts 4:34)

🤝 Tithing Is Not About Money—It’s About Trust

Jesus reaffirmed tithing in the New Testament:

“These ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.”
(Matthew 23:23)

He did not abolish tithing—He corrected hypocrisy, not obedience.

Paul clarified the principle:

“God loveth a cheerful giver.”
(2 Corinthians 9:7)

In the restored gospel, tithing is voluntary, private, and between the member and God.

🌱 Tithing Is a Blessing, Not a Burden

When members of the Church pay tithing:
• They testify that God comes first
• They align with heaven’s economy
• They escape cycles of fear and scarcity
• They participate in lifting others worldwide

Jesus promised:

“Give, and it shall be given unto you.”
(Luke 6:38)

This is not prosperity gospel—it is covenant economics.

✨ The Restored Gospel Reveals the Purpose of Tithing

The restored Church did not invent tithing—it restored its true purpose:
To bless both giver and receiver, to build Zion, and to remove spiritual poverty from the earth.

“Seek ye first the kingdom of God… and all these things shall be added unto you.”
(Matthew 6:33)

Tithing is not about losing 10%
It is about gaining heaven’s protection, provision, and purpose

🌳 THE TWO TREES & THE RESTORED GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST 🌳

The Garden of Eden was not just paradise—it was a decision point.

At the center of Eden stood two real trees:
• The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil
• The Tree of Life

“The tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.”
— Genesis 2:9

These trees represented two paths:
• Trusting God’s authority
• Or claiming moral authority apart from Him

God gave Adam and Eve freedom to eat from every tree—except one.

“But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it.”
— Genesis 2:17

The forbidden tree was not about curiosity or intelligence. It was about who defines good and evil. When Adam and Eve ate, they did not gain wisdom—they inherited separation from God.

“By one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin.”
— Romans 5:12

After the Fall, God did something that looks like judgment—but was actually mercy.

“Lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever…”
— Genesis 3:22

To live forever in a fallen state would mean eternal separation from God. So access to the Tree of Life was protected, not destroyed.

“He… placed cherubims… to keep the way of the tree of life.”
— Genesis 3:24

From that moment on, the entire story of the Bible becomes a story of restoration.

Through Jesus Christ, the way back to the Tree of Life is reopened.

“I am the way, the truth, and the life.”
— John 14:6

The Tree of Life appears again at the end of Scripture—no longer guarded, no longer forbidden.

“In the midst of the street of it… was there the tree of life.”
— Revelation 22:2

And the invitation is clear:

“Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life.”
— Revelation 22:14

📖 Today, the Tree of Life is found in the RESTORED GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST.

Where Christ’s authority, priesthood power, covenants, ordinances, and living revelation are restored, access to eternal life is restored.

“This is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”
— John 17:3

The Bible begins with a tree humanity was forbidden to approach—and ends with a tree humanity is invited to come to again.

Two trees.
One fall.
One Savior.
One restored path back to life.

My Testimony to the World of the Book of Mormon

To the people of all nations, kindreds, tongues, and faiths, I bear witness that the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ is true.

This sacred record is not the work of man, nor the product of imagination, nor a rewriting of the Bible. It is a divinely revealed volume of scripture, translated by the gift and power of God, and preserved by the Lord for our day. It stands as a second witness that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal Son of God, the Redeemer of the world.

The Book of Mormon testifies of Christ with power and clarity. From its opening pages to its final warning, its voice is united in one declaration: Jesus Christ lives. He is the God of Israel. He is the God of the whole earth. He speaks to all people, not only in Jerusalem, but to every nation He has created. As the resurrected Lord Himself declared, “Other sheep I have, which are not of this fold”—and the Book of Mormon is the record of His ministry to those sheep.

This book restores plain and precious truths lost through centuries of apostasy and confusion. It reveals the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ—faith in Christ, repentance, baptism by proper authority, the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. It explains the Fall, the Atonement, the purpose of life, and the plan of salvation with divine harmony and unmistakable authority.

The Book of Mormon fulfills ancient prophecy. It is the stick of Joseph, joined with the stick of Judah, to become one in the hand of the Lord. Together with the Bible, it stands as a double witness, confounding false doctrine, restoring covenant identity, and preparing the world for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

This book does not replace the Bible—it confirms it, clarifies it, and completes its witness. And in accordance with the warning in the final chapter of Revelation, nothing has been taken away from the Bible, nor corrupted. Rather, God has spoken again, as He promised He would, for He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

I testify that no one can sincerely read the Book of Mormon, ponder its message, and pray with real intent without receiving a witness from the Holy Ghost. That witness does not come by argument or scholarship alone, but by revelation. The Spirit of God speaks peace to the soul and truth to the heart, confirming that this book is from Him.

I know the Book of Mormon changes lives. It turns hearts to Christ. It calls the proud to humility, the sinner to repentance, and the broken to healing. It invites all to come unto Christ and be perfected in Him.

To reject this book is to reject a witness that God has mercifully given in the last days. To receive it is to receive greater light, greater knowledge, and a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.

With all the sincerity of my soul, I testify that the Book of Mormon is true, that Joseph Smith was a prophet of the living God, and that Jesus Christ stands at the head of His restored Church. This testimony I give not by my own strength, but by the power of the Holy Ghost.

In the sacred name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Many people are surprised to learn that the Book of Mormon is now among the most widely published books in the world. But for those who have read it with an open heart, its influence goes far beyond numbers.

This book does not ask to replace the Bible, nor does it claim authority through popularity. Instead, it does something simple and profound: it points people to Jesus Christ. Every chapter, every prophet, and every teaching leads to Him—His divinity, His atonement, His resurrection, and His grace.

What makes the Book of Mormon unique is not how often it is printed, but how personally it speaks. Readers from different cultures, languages, and backgrounds describe the same experience: a quiet clarity, a deeper understanding of Christ, and a renewed desire to live with faith, repentance, and hope.

The book itself invites no blind belief. Its promise is direct and humble—read, ponder, and ask God sincerely if it is true. Millions have done that and found their faith in Christ strengthened, not diminished.

In a world filled with noise, arguments, and competing truths, the enduring presence of this book suggests something worth considering: that God still speaks, that Christ’s message is universal, and that truth can be confirmed not only by history or intellect, but by the heart.

You do not need to be a member of any church to read it. You do not need to agree with everything in it to feel its sincerity. But if you are seeking a closer relationship with Jesus Christ, the Book of Mormon deserves an honest reading.

For many of us, it has become more than a book. It has become a quiet witness that Christ lives, that He knows us, and that He still invites all people to come unto Him

The Lord Loves efforts (Inspirational Story)

Sister Taylor sat poised at the piano, her fingers hovering above middle C. With only two hours to go before sacrament meeting, she felt determined to master the challenging hymn despite weeks of practice.

Her son Ethan peeked around the corner, his face radiating confidence. "You've got this, Mom," he said with unwavering faith.

Sister Taylor smiled, feeling a surge of gratitude. "I'm trying, buddy. I just don't want to make any mistakes."

Ethan's expression turned thoughtful. "Dad says the Lord cares more about our effort than our results. He wants us to try our best and learn from our mistakes."

Sister Taylor's eyes widened as the truth of Ethan's words sank in. She recalled stories of missionaries overcoming language barriers, new converts finding the courage to pray, and youth delivering their first talks despite trembling with nervousness. The Lord didn't expect flawless ex*****on; He valued their willingness to try.

As sacrament meeting commenced, Sister Taylor felt her heart swell with determination. When the final hymn began, her hands moved deftly across the keys, and although she hit a wrong note, she didn't falter. The congregation sang with heartfelt conviction, and by the final verse, the music flowed with elegance.

After the closing prayer, an elderly sister approached her, a warm smile on her face. "That was exquisite. I felt the Spirit deeply."

Sister Taylor beamed, feeling a deep sense of satisfaction. As they walked home, Ethan slipped his hand into hers. "See, Mom? The Lord values our effort, not just our achievements."

And in that moment, Sister Taylor knew that with perseverance and faith, she could overcome any obstacle and create something truly beautiful.

Long ago, prophets like Mormon and his son Moroni abridged and compiled these sacred records. When Moroni completed the final version, he buried the plates—only for them to be miraculously revealed and translated by Joseph Smith through the gift and power of God.
