New Roof Void Safety Procedure
Effective January 1, 2025, changes to Queensland Electrical Safety Regulations require new safety measures for accessing roof voids or ceiling spaces during pest control services,
Key Safety Requirements
Power must be switched off
Before our technicians can enter the roof void/ceiling space, the mains power must be turned off at the meter by you or a nominated person. If you are unsure how to do this, please consult a qualified electrician.
Duration of power off
Power will typically be off for no more than 20 minutes. Our technician will notify you when its safe to switch it back on.
Exceptions
If uninterrupted power is required for medical devices or other reasons, or if you choose not to turn off the power, our technicians will proceed with your service without accessing the roof/ceiling space.
