It’s been a solid couple of weeks, and I’ve got to take my hat off to Alana!
In the past 3 weeks alone, we’ve:
* Installed 4 pools
* Tiled 3 pools
* Prepped 3 pool surrounds for exposed aggregate
* Fenced 3 pools
* Handed over 3 completed pools to happy customers!
What many people probably don’t realise is that Smart Self Cleaning Pools is 100% family owned and operated. And when I say family operated, I mean it’s literally just myself and my 15-year-old daughter, Alana, out there getting it done!
Alana decided that the traditional high school pathway wasn’t for her. Instead, she wanted to have a crack at building pools alongside Dad.
She backed herself then, and she continues to back herself every single day.
She turns up day in, day out, without hesitation or complaint. Even when I tell her we’re going fencing in torrential rain! 😂
Building pools isn’t easy. It’s bloody hot, physically demanding, and at times stressful.
But this young girl just keeps showing up, getting stuck in and giving it everything she’s got.
I’m bloody proud of what she’s achieving at just 15 years old. Not many grown men let alone kids would be willing to put in the work she does.
And while I’m supposed to be the one teaching her the ropes, there are plenty of days she’s the one keeping me going!
Couldn’t ask for a better little workmate.
