SSWR Report:
Remember that striking white and gold corn snake we caught a few months back? Well, here’s another unusual encounter, this time, an orange corn snake.
Yet another exotic species, native to the southeastern United States and parts of Mexico showing up in Sydney. These snakes are non-venomous, but they certainly don’t belong in local homes. If you spot an exotic snake (or any snake), contact us immediately for snake removal!
They pose a risk by carrying diseases and threats that aren't commonly found in Australia. That’s why they're immediately sent to the Department of Primary Industries for testing and assessment.
Here’s how it unfolded:
We were recently called out to investigate a report of an “orange snake” spotted inside a home. At first, I figured it might be another prank, until the caller sent a photo. Sure enough, there was a bright orange corn snake, casually poking its head out from beneath a cooktop!
