Have you ever looked at your shower glass after your cleaner has been and thought, “why doesn’t this actually look clean?” 👀
Sometimes, the glass is clean, but there may be something else going on.
You may notice that while the glass is wet, it looks completely clear and you can’t really see any marks. But once it dries, those cloudy patches, white marks and haziness suddenly become much more noticeable.
This can be what cleaners commonly refer to as “glass cancer”, where mineral deposits and hard water buildup have been left on the glass for so long that they have started to etch into the glass itself.
This means it’s no longer simply a matter of wiping or cleaning the surface. The glass can be thoroughly cleaned but still not appear crystal clear because the damage is actually within the glass.
So, how do you prevent it?
- Squeegee the glass after showers
- Regularly clean off soap scum and mineral deposits
- Don’t allow hard water spots to build up over time
- Using appropriate products for your glass
If your shower glass looks amazing when it’s wet but those marks seem to magically come back once it dries… it may not be your cleaner missing it!
