Keeping a pool this clear with virtually no chlorine isn’t easy.

Every evening I:

* Whisper encouraging words to the water.
* Tell the algae it’s not welcome here.
* Give the leaves one final warning.
* And hope for the best.

It seems to be working… 🤷‍♂️

MINERAL POOL AND LOW CHLORINE POOL OWNERS

This pool hasn’t been tended to in 4 months!!!! The cover was left on for 9 weeks straight. Not once was the pool cleaned or had any balance chemicals added manually. The chemical management system takes care of the acid and chlorine needs with the drums being replaced when empty. The calcium sits pretty stable most of the time and we add a couple kilograms of buffer every so often. The alkalinity sits quite stable due to the system running on barely any chlorine (as you can see by this test 😳) and through the use of borates this allows us to run the alkalinity at 50-80ppm rather than the traditional 80-120ppm. I will admit, there was algae… a patch about the size of my face, which was brushed away and consumed/killed very quickly despite the low chlorine levels!

How is this possible you say?!?!!
