WHEN MOPPING PRODUCTS DO YOU DIRTY 😳
This is something really important people misunderstand about commercial cleaning.
Moorong Vet Clinic has excellent hygiene standards, professional cleaners and a team that genuinely cares about maintaining their facility properly every single day.
But even with great maintenance systems… build-up can still happen over time when the wrong combination of surface texture, traffic and chemistry come together.
And honestly, this is very similar to what we recently discussed at the bathhouse with tile maintenance.
Different surfaces require different chemistry.
In this case there were three major factors working together:
• Animal oils from daily veterinary traffic
• The textured timber-look vinyl trapping contamination deep in the ridges
• What we believe was residual product build-up from the mopping solution over time
The interesting part is this floor never looked “filthy” in the traditional sense.
Because the build-up was so even and gradual, it simply became the new normal appearance of the floor. Without a professional restoration clean and extraction process, most people would never realise how much contamination was sitting inside the texture.
Honestly, even we initially thought the flooring was designed in darker tan/brown tones… until the deep scrub and extraction process started revealing the original light beige colour underneath. 👀
This is why professional deep cleaning is so different from day-to-day maintenance cleaning.
Routine cleaning maintains hygiene.
Periodic restoration cleaning removes what slowly builds beyond the surface.
This wasn’t a case of poor cleaning.
This was years of normal traffic, disinfecting and daily operation in a busy veterinary environment.
Big credit to the Moorong Vet team for investing in restoring the floors properly instead of simply covering over the issue.
