Pigeon proofing on a colorbond roof. Protect your roof from galvanic corrosion, don’t let others use PVC coated stainless steel mesh or any other inferior metal mesh. Last thing you need is holes in your roof years down the track. Please share

There are people installing the incorrect mesh on metal roofs. This is the worst I have seen. Using mild steel mesh, not only is it disintegrating it is also damaging the roof.
Rule #1 never use stainless mesh on metal roof unless it is properly grounded with a direct current rated earth lead connected from the mesh to the rails. Rule #2 Use HDPE mesh on metal roofs ( make sure it comes with a 10 year manufacturers warranty).
Rule #3 If it is stainless steel mesh make sure a dc earth leads are used for each span of the mesh, and it is really stainless steel, not the cheap mild steel imported garbage that has been used in the pictures above. Stainless is not magnetic.
Be aware that not everyone is honest, the easiest way to find out is ask to see their COC certificate (public liability insurance)

When installing pigeon proofing it is important to use the right material for each roof type.
I say this because one product with a great reputation has a floor when it comes to a metal roof. PVC coated Stainless Steel mesh, if you check metal compatibility you will find s/s causes galvanic corrosion with nearly ALL metal types. They say oh but it is pvc coated, well the rolls are spliced after being dipped. This can be negated if a dc earth is attached from each mesh span to the rails with a properly rated dc earth lead.

A customer said that I needed to add some new posts and that I could use pictures from her experiences with EcoKleenSolar Redbank-Moggill.
The first 2 pictures is of the pigeon proofing and cleaning that was done earlier this year, which then got replaced with a newer system. The system installers took great care removing the meshing with which I managed to use the greater majority of on the new system.

Generally I tell the customer to wait 6-8 weeks after pigeon proofing because when the pigeons can’t get under the panel...

Generally I tell the customer to wait 6-8 weeks after pigeon proofing because when the pigeons can’t get under the panels they stand on them and make a mess. Never have I seen a battle of it’s like that must of taken place here, the best lookout position in the neighbourhood. The 2 dead pigeons does not account for all the feather everywhere.
