Well I decided to go for a look hadn’t really been in awhile but I went on my own with my boy Loki and my pup Nitro who’s on training wheels he has seen a little bit of action but this morning he was in the deep end from getting there to sticking the pig all took place within half an hour. We come up to the paddock and Loki hit the ground running after nearly stacking it when he jumped off and he was just hitting that paddock in an out in and out but never going more than 80 m and while they were working. I could hear something moving in the cane like whispers in the wind it was that quiet I hoped it would have walked out and I would have shot it but no. then I heard Loki started to bark one every so often which told me he had something and it was decent as he’ll only do that if it’s decent and he can’t pull it up on his own and then I heard the little bloke squeal and thought oh no here we go he’s gotten hurt anyhow about 30 seconds after that happened. The tracker made its noise and they were both on tree treed. So I got my s**t together and got in there and when I got there it was a Mexican stand-off one pig two dogs nose to nose staring at each other. I thought for a quick moment what’s going to happen when I grab it and then just grabbed it and stuck it but it wasn’t going down without a fight every time it moved the dog would grab it if it moved the dog grabbed it until eventually it all went quiet. I checked my dogs and realised we had holes so we got out of the paddock I rang me mate who rang the vet and lined them up. I got him into town as quick as I could and that’s when the vets took over My poor boy Loki has got a few holes in him that the vets have successfully patched up a big thank you to Tropical Vets in ingham and my little pup got hit in the arse for his efforts. Darren and I went and got the pig out and in the meantime of doing that there was something else moving in the paddock too again like whispers in the wind. So the big fella is still in there because we had a look at some old footage that we caught on a Trail cam.
Happy hunting people
