To Battery or not to Battery.
Transitioning your Lawn mowing equipment to Battery power can be a costly exercise.
I've shopped around for about 12 months to find the best and reasonably affordable Battery Commercial equipment and come up with Husqvarna as my preferred range.

The 525i commercial multi tool and Bli300 9amp battery for all day performance.

Mind you at the price battery gear is at, I could have purchased 2 petrol whipper snippers.

Well, That's a wrap.
2024 done.

Lawns mowed, Gutters emptied, houses cleaned and windows sparkling.

Thank you to all my wonderful clients for supporting a small local business. 2024 raced past like nobody's business.
Now it's time to relax for a couple of weeks.
I will be back to normal business hours, Monday 6th of January 2025.

Window cleaning just got a little easier this week with my new 12 Foot Ettore extension pole and Moerman fliq mop and excelerator handle.
I can now comfortably reach most windows.

A week in review from last week.
A week of gutters and windows. A big stainless number that had a drip to fix and given the wind we've had, another that was so full I had to dig it all out by hand.
The knife is just as a size reference and shows how big this particular gutter is.
I'm getting more confident with a roof climb.

Oven Cleaning can be a real pain if you don't know about all the in's and out's of its components.
Don't forget, some oven doors can have 3 glass panels in the door build.
And, it's always when you get that annoying dribble between the sheets of glass.

It's been an interesting week with a few unusual jobs to complete.
And a footwear upgrade for the outside Home Services jobs.
Got my Mongrels on and proudly supporting Aussie made boots.


I got an urgent request to change an outside tap that simply wouldn't turn off. With the help of Swann Plumbing in Glasshouse rocks Rd, I grabbed what I needed and quickly fixed the annoying tap.
For under $20 for a tap, I thought the new one was a bargain. No more washers or seals and a very easy tap to operate.

I got time to clean our solar hot water panels this week.
Some lovely growth that had to be removed.
These are on our roof and I did use a harness. Liability disclaimer.
Roof connected to water tanks.

Because we have tanks, I had to be very careful about how I cleaned them.
A quick spray with a mild vinegar solution and a scrub with a nylon scouring pad.
Wipe down with a damp microfiber cloth and cleanup with a dry cloth and towel as I wanted to make sure nothing got into the tanks.
All came up nicely I thought given how grubby they looked.

Lift Off Hinges.
Have you considered how you access a room for a loved one if they have slipped, fallen or are stuck on the floor next to the door ?

Modern homes have lift off hinges as a standard fitting. Meaning you can lift the door off it's hinges once you have it open a small amount.

Much older homes were not fitted with these and would be retrofitted after the build.

The good thing is that they are easy to buy and usually quick to fit.
Under $20 a set is a small investment.

My most recent install of a set. Source some timber and stain to match the fittings.
Cut the door down 12mm , fit the hinges and add another panel to the top of the door jamb to hide the new gap.
Test the door to make sure it does what it's supposed to do.

Check with your aged care provider to see if you can claim a set.

Thanks to Coastal Work wear and Safety at Moruya for getting my order together and for the embroidery request.
The Syzmik work Wear range. Nice and lite and very comfortable. Although, the outdoor shirts need to be ironed.
The indoor podium shirts are iron free.
I did have to seek approval.
