📢 GIVIT receives $500,000 donation from Queensland Government to support flood recovery.

The Queensland Government has generously donated $500,000 to GIVIT to help people and communities impacted by the recent floods in North and Far North Queensland.

100% of this donation, as well as all publicly donated funds received by GIVIT ‘s appeal will be used to buy essential goods and services for those affected by these floods.

To donate money, items or time to help people impacted, head to https://www.givit.org.au/queensland-storms-and-flooding?appeals=Appeal-261 where you can see exactly what’s needed right now.

A reminder not to drop or send unrequested donations into flood-impacted communities, as this can hinder recovery.

Pictured are GIVIT staff Christina (left), Temiah (middle) and Nina (right) with Queensland Premier David Crisafulli MP at this morning’s press conference announcing the donation.

🌼 Celebrate Biodiversity Month with the Yellow Chat! 🐦

This Biodiversity Month, let’s shine a light on one of Australia’s most charming and vulnerable birds—the Yellow Chat. These bright, beautiful birds are a symbol of the delicate balance within our ecosystems. Unfortunately, their numbers are declining due to habitat loss and environmental changes. 🌾

Here’s how you can help: 🌳 Support wetland conservation efforts to protect the Yellow Chat’s natural habitat. 📚 Educate others about the importance of helping to protect these rare birds and their environments. 🛠 Get involved with local conservation groups working to restore habitats for the Yellow Chat and other endangered species.

By protecting the Yellow Chat, we’re not just saving a bird; we’re preserving the biodiversity that makes our world vibrant and resilient. Let’s come together this month to ensure these little yellow wonders continue to grace our wetlands. 💛🐤
